'Dietrich Bonhoeffer does ask the right questions' Reggie Williams in Germany

My friend Reggie Williams and I visited Berlin and Flossenbürg in September 2015. After our journey I asked him, how our visit changed his view on Bonhoeffer. We also talked about the question what Bonhoeffer can say to us today.

Bonhoeffer had a lot of courage to speak out against the Nazis. So many theologians in Germany meekly went along with the Nazis. He knew he was taking risks by doing so, but his faith was strong, even down to his execution. It doesn't matter what race he was, but his thoughts are for the ages. He was long disillusioned with the German church, but came to the realization that Jesus and God were beyond the confines of the structured hierarchy of Christianity. This made his faith strong, even when he walked to the gallows.

We should always strive for better i don't believe in having a utopia butt a healthy comunity is achievable. humans naturally group together in communities rase shouldn't have anything to do with rase but to attack a group you see as better off then you is missing the point and then your acting the same as what Bonhoeffer was fighting against.

Bonhoeffer was a good theologian, yet, getting involved with the Hitler assassination was against Jesus and God’s truth! He definitely is not the answer to what we should do in the time of persecution! We have no right to take anyone’s life or freedom! “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will called children of God”! “Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.” “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5 from the beatitude!

What?!!!! He was doing it to preserve the life of others. HE wouldn’t have had to face persecution if he hadn’t opposed Nazis; he died defending Jews. Are you also against allied forces who used lethal force to stop Hitler and rescue the surviving Jews in concentration camps?
