The official name of this mix is "Assemble The Monster". "The switch thrown; as raw lightning arcs down the line.. violent.. consuming the cold form upon the table. Within moments, the power is diminished. By the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open. It breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs. LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!" This text was an adaptation of Dr. Frankenstein reviving the monster. Fitting, after all, that it is for the opening track "Vivify".

It is hard to refrain from speeding in my car when listening to any Dieselboy album. Especially this album, 6th session, DMG and project human. oh can't forget system upgrade or soldiers story. I have enjoyed my favorite DNB for over 25 years and love his progression and newer slightly different beats. I would say Soldier's story and System Upgrade are more "Jungle" than drum and bass. I love that too for their genius and originality. Been privileged to see Dieselboy live on a few occasions, at mostly massives or weekend camp raves and every party i have been to(every weekend for 4 years '99 to '03) partying hard before, during , and especially in the afterparties. It's amazing im not dead with all the Ecstasy, alcohol, Special K, Coke, best chronic grown in the Emerald Triangle, and a significant amount of LSD and mushrooms that would kill a horse, that fueled my partying back then but it was a lot of fun and I am healthy today because of my smart, experienced, Significantly strong will power and the motivation to simply have fun while still being safe and responsible with friends you can count on for life to watch out for you if needed them, who share the same interests. SO much fun going from tent to tent hearing a banging song in every one and you just pick a tent or DJ that relates best with your mood and you are set to enjoy life's abundant pleasures. At Massives there are cops everywhere and pretty much they left everyone alone unless some jackass got big balls and tried to fuck with them or talk shit or shove their drug use in their faces. In like '00 all the cops started targeting people who were using pacifiers because they called it paraphernalia because it was like yelling in their ears that you took ecstacy and are rolling hard. My secrets are to never take more than is needed to be aware of surroundings at all times or at least a "Babysitter" to watch your back for you, moderation is very key, knowing and truly holding yourself to saying No when needed and lots and lots of water, stick with people you know and care about you and completely trust not to be a shithead, never mix drugs except hippie flipping and candy flipping for the only true hardcore experienced partiers.Nothing like being horny as hell off the X but seeing blue rabbits wearing tuxedos hopping from tent to tent while pooping watermelons(i know physically impossible but lsd will make you see some weird shit. I would love to drop a crazy ass drug like LSD and go into the Happy Hardcore tent, which wasnt my favorite genre but the crazy fastness of the music pairs well with a chaotic drug like acid and the HH room was always full of hot chicks. I use to puddle with like ten drops at a time and it was pennies and you could simply walk down Height Street in San Francisco and be propositioned by every dealer sitting on the sidewalk within 5 minutes. Once got a vial of 100 drops for 60 bucks that whacked out an entire cabin full of friends listening to heavy loud doses of Dieselboy, ATB, BT, TIESTO, DJ DENISE, AK1200 and DJ Morgan Decepticon(find it on soundcloud it is an awesome way to pass an hour of time while working or vegging the net) because everyone figured it was a deal too good to be true and we took a lot thinking it was fake and it was not. it was purchased from a hippie with a Mad Hatter hat on. Such a living literal stereotype. The funniest thing i saw that night was my friend who is 6'9" 330 lbs laughing so hard while jumping up and down holding his junk so he wouldn't laugh pee his pants cuz it was a giant laugh fest and a lot of fun. I am trying to explain that responsible use, smart use, although illegal for most shit, but used in moderation and safely( I never felt the need to go on the roof on acid and think my arms would fly and jump off. thats a pcp effect and gladly I never tried that or needles or freebasing or any extreme way to ingest anything. Never did pills other than x that was usually tested by DanceSafeDotCom who would test everybody's pills that brought them to the booth and tell you what they were made of. The only time i knowingly took heroin was when they told me the brown specs in my Audi TT were a small amount of heroin. unafraid i swallowed it and had a great night. I was a true "Weekend Warrior" with no responsibilities or cares about anything but creating memories of fun with great people for life. I wouldn't change anything i did and I don't regret this novel I wrote because Snow White is a crazy bitch at 5:19 am. like if you do but i would rather read about other peoples positive experiences partying especially if Dieselboy is a favorite to do it to. Cheers and be good to each other and stay safe! Looking at this I am realizing that it is an excessive read but my mind is talking a million miles an hour and I paid handsomely to get the effect. so if you read all this you are a trooper, and I salute you. Time to close the laptop.

Drum & bass is potentially the most complex music on earth! Maybe its only rival is classical, although classical's complexity is primarily in its melodies, whereas drum & bass shines in its percussion & effects.

Try death metal then come back and reflect. It is the most complex form of techno no doubt. But from a jungle producers perspective Its a lot easier these days to create. Maybe I'm jaded, but considering the music is programmed I think the complexity comes from the creators mind the tracks are an afterthought.

Pretty much everything is in 4/4, made on a computer to a grid. Relatively easy to make, no musicianship involved, no knowledge of musical theory either. One or two bars with a breakbeat, endlessly repeated thoughout the whole song. Not much complex going on there as far as I see. Like the other guy said, death metal has much more complexity to it. I'm not saying one is better than the other, I like me some DnB, but calling DnB complex is a far stretch. Listen to some progressive rock/metal stuff, or like you said yourself, classical music, where you will find much much more complex rhythms and melodies which are played on instruments.

@@gatovolador7618 I have to respectfully disagree and point out how many successful albums DB has sold vs Andy C. in over 2 decades. I graciously admit I am ignorant to the stats of Andy C's albums and have never bought one, but I bet DB has sold more. Don't get me wrong I love a lot of Andy C stuff along with DJ Dara, BSE, and many others. I gravitate to the hardest darkest stuff from DB albums such as tech itch collaborations and singles or net only releases. Is the set you mention found on soundcloud? that's the only place i could find a free version that was vol 6 and said "Green Light Mix", other than only a 1:26only length preview on youtube. I have listened to a bit of it and I think these tracks are far from being as good as any Dieselboy tracks in general, on the premises of the singing in Andy C's songs, which I can't stand in DnB or Jungle, 95% of the time. trance with lyrics or house yeah sure but I just wanna hear the fat dnb drops and beats. also I noticed a slow kind of beat for some of the songs and I like HARD AND FAST AND NO FLUFF. I also noticed a lack of hard hitting random obnoxious samples like in Dieselboy's albums Project Human or 6th Session and my point is that that Mix by Andy C was no match for the chaotic deep ass bass lines and regular hard hitting beats and drops. I'm not saying I don't value your opinions or taste, one only likes what the brain tells us we like. I just think DB is harder, faster, stronger, to take a lyric from Daft Punk. be safe and be well. I enjoyed your suggestion very much thank you. Ps I find that with Dieselboy I never skip tracks but i do with several of the ones on Nightlife Vol 6 Green Mix.. I value your opinions and respect what you find enjoyable about Andy C and I am happy you have that album to make you feel good or positive about quality Drum and Bass/Jungle music.
