Diesel Freak was started by Ryan LaLone in 2007 with the goal of helping truck owners improve the rigs' performance and fuel economy. They took performance to the next step with this 2007 Kenworth W900, which with all of its performance improvements, can put down four-digit horsepower. The truck is used in uphill drag racing, both loaded and bobtail, and it also competes in truck pulls. The truck is also configured to be able to do burnouts and donuts.
We caught up with LaLone last fall at the 2022 Mayberry Truck Show in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, where he talks about the various upgrades and improvements he and the team at Diesel Freak have made to the truck's C16 Caterpillar engine.
