I've watched a lot of footballers playing and I still do, Cristiano, Messi, Figo, Rui Costa, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Romario, Zico, Van Basten... now he have access to full games, a great sort of leagues, we can watch whatever football we want from the best teams. With Maradona I normally watched him play for one or two minutes every week, in a compact about the other European leagues, in a sunday sports tv program. But those one or two minutes were enough to realize how wonderful, different, powerful and Unique Diego Maradona was. The best I've seen playing football. Gracias, Diego!

I read it in a book by Egypthan writer and the book was awarded by FIFA. anyhow, when FIFA granted Maradona with special a prize he cried and DiStifano said to: "Do not cry Diego this is less than what you deserve." I wish I will find in my old magazines a rare photo for them together in Maradona's time in Barcelona.

Maradona was larger than life ... on one side with this great God-given talent, like magic on the pitch, on the other side so fragile and vulnerable to the human side of life, fighting the demons we all know too well in this world. Out of that chaos arose a beauty I for one never witnessed anything alike, and in some weird way it makes sense that it is Maradona's face that is painted on the bombed ruins in Syria and elsewhere to give hope, not because Maradona in any way lived an exemplary life, but that he despite all of his struggles and hard times was able to share something so beautiful and so unique, a light in the dark for many. I will always remember you Diego, thank you.

He was literally Unstoppable in his prime even tackling wasnt enough to stop Maradona.Maradona's team didn't have such star and professionals unlike now sadly.. And there was a time that Diego didn't play for, I can't remember how many games, through injury. And people said, had he played, most probably he would have made them Champions too!!! He was a young Diego then!!!

He beat teams that had won the World Cup: Uruguay, England, and West Germany. And also in 90' World Cup, though he was not even in 50% form, he also led Argentina, all the way to the Final, beating also hosts Italy, and before that the Great Brazil. In recent times, we see about 3-5 teams hording all the best players in the world. Barcelona is paying for that now. That tactic incurred a lot of debt and they could not afford Messi. the grass on the pitches was higher, the players had to have excellent ball control to play in Serie A, there was plenty of Winstrol, hard tackles on the ball from behind were not sanctioned. it was all extreme, technical, free and fantastically violent!!

For me Maradona is the undisputed greatest player of all time. What he would do today, with so much protection, can only be imagined. But whoever you prefer, there is no doubt the two GOAT were both short left-footed Argentinians.
