Napoli had only won 2 coppa italias before Maradona’s arrival, but afterwards, Maradona became a god in southern Italy by taking the club to unprecedented heights.

Many Neapolitans that followed Argentina against Italia in World Cup 90. Many other Neapolitans supported Italy as well, with a banner "Diego, we love you, but Italy is our home". Such was Diego Maradona's effect in Napoli. ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
