I started to prefer models because I'm more of a "details" guy, but I still like to have a few of the toy models as long as the quality and proportions are there. Not to mention being cheaper of course. The nostalgic factor is pretty cool to have too. My budget for diecast is usually around $30 or less, but I have to stretch it a little bit more for Ferraris, TLV and 1/43 scale models.

@@spidersdiecast I like models too, except when they’re so fragile that I’m afraid I’ll break them if I pick them up. I like to handle my toys, not just look at them, and sometimes I’m clumsy….

@@michaelteret4763 Well that's why I stay away from resin models lol. That's why most of my super premium cars are Mini GT, Kaido House and Tarmac Works Global 64 models. BBR 1/64 diecast models are a great option too. In fact those are built by Mini GT. All these brands too of course can have their own quality control issues, but I like how they strike the perfect balance between attention to detail, sturdiness, and rollability. Yes they ain't cheap but for me it's a small price to pay for some fantastic models.

I kinda covet the BBR MC20, especially in red, but it’s too expensive for me. So instead, I have an MC20 on the way via AliExpress, made by RMZ City. Much cheaper in price, much cheaper in quality. If BBR did an old car that I liked, I might spring for one, but not for a new car.

to me there 3 main category : Toys , Fancy toys , collector models , what actually defines in which category a car fit can be kinda vague mainly for Toys to Fancy and Fancy to Models ,all "premium" from Matchbox , hot wheels , Majorette , maisto etc... are fancy toys, tomica could also fit too but with their Limited and premium but they have TLV and also in the case of majorette and tomica their toys are less basic than matcbox & hot wheels which also is in a weird spot because they only do toys & fancy toys including RLC and Elite64 , also in the weird spot of half Fancy /half models are Norev and Johnny lightning until kinda recently I have to disagree with you when you stated that miniGT & Kyosho are n-between so that's mean fancy toys.. MiniGT & Kyosho are collectors models , lastly they're some brand that are collector models focused that are bad imo like M2 machines .

@@TheQuirkyGarage1999 yeah, M2 is garbage. I guess you’re right about Kyosho too. But I’d still argue that Mini GT is Fancy Toys. They roll well, and they’re resistant to damage.
