I'm not a fan of the huge wheels in the back, but I can definitely appreciate the time and effort that went into this. The wood planks definitely bring the whole thing together!

Thank you. The wheels are part of the hot rod stuff. 😉
That is NIIICCCEEE! Love all the custom, personal touches. Very unique and one of a kind!

Great idea. Like the video. Sent it to a friend that knows a guy in our area that did this to a real bug. He bought a bug and back roof was so bad sitting in a tree the front was sticking out he ended up cutting off the back made a bed area and made wood sides. I can say different and gets attention at car shows.
That is just awesome , the music is very therapeutic , great custom job 👍

Awesome job amazingly fantastic well done Cheers KC Tasmania
Seen so many people painting the door hinges in chrome, they were always body colour on beetles, they are part of the door!

Pretty cool!! Definitely a better hotrod than the original look. 👍👍 only thing I really don't care for, nor understand why you did it, is the "planks" it would/did look awesome when it appeared to have a cover. Really great custom tho!! 👍👍
Well done sir! This VW pickup is a natural for a wood deck! Your custom came out great! I like everything about your video. Very professional! Subbed!

Excellent job on the mirrors, I would’ve at least wet sanded the clear, and blasted it with another coat.It would’ve came out like glass.

Great job! The putty for the axle tubes is a great idea I will use myself. If I can offer a tip in return- get a jug of Muriatic acid and drop any of the chrome pieces you don't want to stay chrome in a container of that stuff. It will take a couple minutes, but strips them down to the base plastic color. Not my idea, I learned that from Baremetal customs. Another great customizer and restorer. You should check his channel and Diecast resurrection as well.

You can also use Ajax scrubbing powder and a wet toothbrush to remove chrome on plastic, that how I've always done it, and it scrubs off lightning fast (plus it's only $1).

Not important, I watch some channels where the person doing the restorations are done in Spanish. I don't mind and I'm sure it would be fine with the community.
Next painting season (we do our spray work outdoors) we're gonna turn one-a these into a fire truck...
Way cool I love volksrods
Awesome! Turned out amazing....Can I have the fenders? Lol.... I'm new to the hobby and making videos, but I like making Frankensteins so them fenders would be awesome to have.... Even the rest of that bed.....
