Mountain guide Jakob Burkhart (Gustav Dießl) is a controversial person. He saved the alpine luxury hotel from an avalanche. That is why he is recommended as a particularly active and enthusiastic mountain guide. In the village, on the other hand, he is thought to be a testament-haulker, who retains the considerable legacy of his uncle, who belongs to the congregation. The truth is, of course, more complicated: his uncle's testament says that he can only be a legally illegitimate child on one condition: he must first get to the east wall of Monte Verità. Jakob finds no ally in the place for this murderous project. Not even Monika (Hertha Thiele), his beloved, can help him, as she is promised Jacob's adversary as a bride.
