Could not agree more. I to am a Heavy Equipment Tech and I think I have 6 or7 die grinders all IR or snap on. Use them every day. I leave one with cutoff wheel, two 90 degrees with roloc pad, one with big flap wheel and one with wire brush. Your setup is a lot like looking into my tool box lol.
Glad that you take the tool noise seriously. My dad damaged his hearing during his maintenance career while working on industrial machines. I have an old 120v Craftsman Professional (made in the USA back then!) die grinder that I bought in 1988 and it is NOISY but powerful (22,500 rpm) but is much larger than your pneumatic IR grinders. Used to notch the bottom of cylinder bores with it when building stroker engines. Still sees use a few times a year but probably should replace the bearings to quiet it down.

Well presented. I did not know some are quieter than others. Thought they we all super loud. I will buy the IR based on your views. Thanks again.
Awesome comparison video. I will be looking at the IR

Great video and great explanations about the quality, noise level and ergonomics of those tools. It's also great that you have such a large personal selection of tools for comparison. Thank you. I came hear to find out what a die grinder is. I guess die makers and die setters use them too.
SOLD This is a GREAT review. I am going to buy the IR MAX from Amazon right now. THANKS! Greg
I find them extremely useful and often needed.

Great video work, Christian. I also commend you on your fantastic American Flag. Fabricating it with a bit of wear and tell should point out to those viewing it that it took a lot of work and sacred sacrifice to make it our national symbol. When I think of all the young people who died horrible deaths to protect our freedoms, I get a sense of hope when anyone, like yourself, is proud to display our flag. As an old vet, it's very comforting to see a young man demonstrating such pride. Please keep up the great work.

I have MAC air die grinders and love them but I just bought the Milwaukee electric die right angle die grinder and love it for light applications or anytime I’m near a air hose
Great Video Christian! Thanks for turning me onto those IR's. I have been looking for something a little quieter, but not sacrifice on Power. Looks like these may be perfect. Keep up the good work, and I think your Channel will take off, and do good. Hope to get mine launched early this month. Been shooting some Video here and there in the Shop, just need to find some time to sit down, and get some edited, and uploaded. Happy New Year

Thanks man, im gonna check out those IR grinders
Well done. Well explained. Thank you.
I keep two on my woodshop. A regular grinder with a cut off disc and a 90 degrees with a roloc sanding disc. Use them all the time. Nothing better for sanding random odds and ends and hard to reach stuff. Great for cutting and grinding off nails and screws. I've gotten good enough with the 90 degree grinder I can grind a nail flush without damaging the wood. Never seen another woodworker with a die grinder!

hey can you loosen that top collar nut on the snap on die grinders, that might let you turn the handle around to the position you prefer .
on the snap on, you can't flip the head around on the die grinder so you can have the trigger on the bottom side?
Great vid useful information thanks
Saludos Christian. Tienes razón, los molinillos baratos no sirven....se dañan en poco tiempo y tienen poca potencia. Lo mejor es comprar molinillos de marca reconocida y su calidad será notoria. Saludos desde Colombia!
What is the required cfm at 90psi for the two IR shown?

What size air compressor u run for the IR die grinder. CFM and psi ? Or would a 14 CFM at 90 psi compressor work?
I bet that lock on 90deg. Ingersoll is handy. Eliminates the need for 9/16 wrench just grab the 3/4 and go

Whats your compressor?
If you're ever up in Canada, the Pro Point line at Princess Auto are ridiculous quality for the money. I've run a 100° die grinder and 100° dedicated roloc grinder daily in a machine shop for the last 10 years and they're still going strong. Plus they're super quiet and they cost even less than the IR.

I’m not American but that flag looks sweet!
well done. thanks.
What air compressor are you using to power these?
I’m looking at the capri rn and they seem to have great products for the money
This larger die grinder kzread.infoUgkxmwiwyX3ADeryrwvcsiwLeKxme6QNQmGL runs very smoothly in use. There's virtually no vibration. Paddle switch with the safety trigger is a bit cumbersome to use, but is much safer. Grinder cannot turn on if set down on the bench.Note that this die grinder, like most others, runs at 25,000 rpm. Always use a face shield and hearing protection. If your grinding stone has any sign of chips or cracks, throw it away. At 25,000 rpm, the stone sees very high G-loads and could come apart explosively if the stone is damaged. Always run the grinder for a short time before using it to check the stone. This tool is heavier than some but very well made.Recommended.
I couldn't agree more on the IR MAX die grinders. I have both and love both. I'd buy them again and again. I use and recommend Dynabrade's Dynaswivel with flow control #95734. I like your swivels as well. great video.

Hi, I do landscaping, I am looking for a grinder to sharpen my hedge trimmers. 30 inch long blades, 2 sets of blades to sharpen per trimmer, many teeth, very small an tight. Each trimmer takes a couple of hours to do. I have 8 trimmers. These grinders look like a real slution. My question is what is the minimum size air compressor to use? I have a small dewalt 1 hp with small tank, the kind typically used for air nail guns. You did not talk about air compressors. Sorry for long post and thanks for any help.

james macdonnell I would suggest this die grinder. Even with your small compressor I think this one is small enough and yet fast enough and powerful enough to do what you need. Ingersoll Rand 5102MAX Air Die Grinder www.amazon.com/dp/B0081L5VEA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2QsjEb0AAJ4SZ

Good breakdown of the tools. Thanks Christian. I will have to disagree with you on the harbor freight stuff though. I run them and multiples of them. They are not my go to ones. However, if oiled up well they will stay with you for awhile. My go to are the BluePoint 1/2 horse size. Keep it up

@@roylowery1329 wait, I thought in th US 1/4 of a horse is equal to 4 goats, and in England 1/8 horse is equal to 5 goats and the conversion to sheep is even more twisted.

Been using it since the day it was available, its def worth it, but its not a complete replacement, unlike an air grinder it can overheat if you load it up, even with the biggest XC battery. For what its worth, I dont use air at all anymore, if I need more power I use the 18V version, it's really big but really powerful,
