For the first time in my life, I was skipping Christmas. I was feeling very, very guilty about it... Raw Stuff instantly fell into two parts. The first half is my side of miscommunication, and the second my reaction to hearing they felt the same.
Songwriting really helps me express things that I may otherwise be without words to explain. ‘Raw stuff’ is one of those songs that just stood out when I was writing. Sometimes a song just speaks to me more than others.
I wrote this song as a dedication to a dear person in my life. In performance, ‘Raw stuff’ cuts close to the bone for me. It’s a difficult song to sing, both emotionally taxing and physically. It is a moment for reflection.
I find now, I'm sharing this song for anyone else who is trying to process what’s happening in their life.

What's emotional, heart-breaking, beautiful, and wildly deep in thought? It's me, sitting in my bed with some chicken nuggets I got delivered, trying to figure out the words to summarise how this insanely wonderful track makes me feel.
Met Didirri 2 years ago at his show in Newcastle. I told him that I was studying music and that even though I love making music, my degree sucked. He told me about studying jazz piano and how it also kind of sucked, but told me to see it through. I just finished my Bachelors at the end of 2019 (it still sucked, but I finished it) and have started recording my own music. A small moment but it meant a lot. This song is beautiful. Raw stuff indeed.

Art is always too good to be on the Eurovision. Each time people cannot find a beauty and soul hidden deep inside a song like Didirri's, they call it boring. For three minutes Didirri pours out his heart and lets it flow all over the piano where it gets absorbed into your ears and you ultimately get lost within his world. The perfect arrangement! 🌹

What a gorgeous song, and such a vulnerable, truthful performance too. That final phrase: “I’ll stay quiet now” completely undoes me. Now I want to go write all of my favourite lyrics and lines on my bedroom windows!
It says just the right amount. It’s not ostentatious or trying too hard. It’s just perfect. Well done Didirri! 🌹

I love it. Its just so beautifully quiet and understated, and the violin bits give me chills. So many feels, it reminds me of Tom Odell's 'Real Love', and with the right staging, will be an absolute moment. PLEASE let the staging be intimate and simplistic, this is too good a song to pass up. Australia, you know what to do

I remember watching you play at the Evelyn hotel a few years ago and just being in awe the entire set. Still in awe! Great to see you continuing to produce amazing music.
This would undoubtedly get them the best result of all the songs in their NF. Gives me some Salvador Sobral vibes. Not sure that Australia would pick something like this though since they usually vote more for uptempo songs.

RickyPro I was judging more by how Australia tends to vote in Eurovision. Their 12 always goes to uptempo songs and Arcade only got 6 points from them

Smart to write the phrase "Life has some raw stuff" on a white board. It will make people remember the phrase more and I see it as a symbol of emotion. This song somehow remembers me of Colour Of Your Life by Michal Szpak even though both songs different compared to each other. So I think Raw Stuff should be Australia's entry for Eurovision 2020. Edit: The melody is also simple. Simplicity in a melody shows that Didirri puts music at number one instead of the attention most pop singers want.
