One really cool thing that I never hear anyone talk about is how the fire on the shrub isn’t red or orange like regular fire, it’s like a white and purple. This made god feel much more ethereal and otherworldly. I loved it.

The fact that in this movie God speaks through the voice of he who listens really reminds that every Human Creation is made in the Imago Dei .
I would have preferred the man/woman/child voice, since the Judeo-Christian god is both timeless and sexless

Seriously who would be offended over the first one? However, I will say combining the entire cast for God is also a great idea making Kilmer’s higher to portray the way each individual views God as familiar to each one.

@@connorscanlan2167 ironic isn't it, how those types are always the real "snowflakes".
I loved that they came to that decision. Having multiple voices helped relay the gravity of god being ‘the all’ of things, while having one’s own voice be the most audible resonates with the fact that we are often the most closest to our God, when we alone speak to them. It’s our voice, speaking to the silent void of faith. The fact the void would ever speak back, using our voice, feels like the truest answer to the soul from its maker.
I love the prince of Egypt.
That just confirms to me that God speaks through the author of the scriptures.
I’m hindsight they definitely made the right decision
I love his voice, it truly represents on how i imagined God would sound like.. it feels holy 🥺💖

I like that interpretation - that God speaks to Moses with every voice Moses has ever heard.

Making it here but I find it wow that no matter what happens the king doesn’t kill Moses. He’s either trying to make a point or maybe it’s because he was his brother, or both. But still, wow
They got that choice so right. The scene makes me cry every time. And I am not particularly religious.
Should’ve used Morgan freeman
Man woman and child as one voice... Sounds odd but noice at the dame time
If God is in all of us, it definitely should’ve been a mix gender and age of voices, very cool concept
I think they made the 100% right choice. It’s one of the best scenes in cinema(definitely for animated) and it wouldn’t have had the same force if it wasn’t a powerful voice that resounded the way Kilmer’s did. Making a movie about faith and religion is very difficult to do without insulting, pandering or irritating people by changing the story but Prince of Egypt was as close to perfect I think any studio will get. It’s good bad they didn’t put the same effort into the sequel or make more biblical stories as I’m sure David or any of the judges/prophets would have made amazing movies.
I would have preferred it if there was no voice, just subtitles, it solves the problem of who to cast and supports the idea that God only speaks directly to his prophets
Well, God is not a man or a woman, so I don’t think it really matters, but hey, batter to play it safe when it comes to matters like this. God made man in his image and made woman from man, so we refer to God as he. Jesus was also a man, and Jesus is a part of God, so I guess in a way, God was a man. The Holy Spirit is a spirit though, and the Heavenly Father is genderless to our knowledge. The perfect being has no need for gender.
Amen
