Happy 175th birthday, Sir Wilfrid Laurier -- born November 20, 1841. If November 20th is designated "Sir Wilfrid Laurier Day", as she said, how come it isn't declared a national holiday in Canada, like Lincoln's birthday or Washington's Birthday is in the United States? Something like this somewhat fries me: We have been a country nearly 150 years. Our country has boomed both during and since Sir Wilfrid Laurier became Prime Minister. Give his birthday as a national holiday in Canada. Does someone have to sign a petition for that, or something? Everyone in Canada wants to pay attention to American politics -- whether Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton become President of the US. Why not concentrate on OUR heritage and make November 20th a national holiday to commemorate the birthday of Sir Wilfrid Laurier? It should have been done years ago, like in 1919, when he died.

What a joke. He was known to go from issue to issue in order as he saw was a priority. Putting entire native peoples on reserves wasn't his idea, he did however saw a potential to educate future native populations so they could keep up with the ever growing European influence on Canada.

He can also build farms on tundra tiles

He is also infamous for building hockey rinks which provided a lot of culture to Canada and also helping to defend against a formal war by alexander the great in 1112 BC. Furthermore, Laurier is infamous for the liberation war against Australia for capturing the city state of Babylon.
