This movie is proof that if you have solid writers and people who really want to make a movie instead of BILLIONS of dollars, it can absolutely be done. $80-$90 million dollars is still a lot of money to fund a movie, but it still affords a great product nonetheless.

The reason that scene was expensive was the choreography and post production. It isn't as if it was all practical effects. They left the guns put in the end for comedy purposes not budget purposes. Think about it. Everyone else had guns. So claiming that they left them out for the final battle is a misnomer.

Dark phoenix had a 200M budget and its total gross was 252M. Deadpool however had an updated total gross of 782M with a 58M budget. It was one of the worse fuvking movie to have ever existed with a mediocre director and Fox gave them the double thumbs up while Deadpool was given turd for lunch

Reynolds read the rest of it & instantly identified with the character. He’s essentially a superhero version of himself😆😂

"Super Anti-hero movie" is the correct label. Deadpool is nowhere near a "hero", he's a mercenary for [Insert Deity]'s sake. I feel Deadpool did well because he's not your typical boy scout good guy supe. His morals are questionable at best and often does things for not the right reason, but ends up doing the right thing.

I've been a Deadpool fan for almost 12 years, WAY before the leaked footage. Not to say I don't LOVE the movies. I truly do. The studio fought tooth and nail to avoid the dreaded R rating thinking that it would kill the sales for the movie since it was a "superhero" film. However, the crew knew that it would never work if it was not an R rated film. It was a fight between the folks that were working spreadsheets and the people that knew the material.

Clerk's is another example. Zero experience and basic knowledge of movie making turned into a massively popular movie. Just because everyone involved had passion.
That gun fight scene was definitely worth the budget. It was a great opening for Deadpool.

The reason that scene was expensive was the choreography and post production. It isn't as if it was all practical effects. They left the guns put in the end for comedy purposes not budget purposes. Think about it. Everyone else had guns. So claiming that they left them out for the final battle is a misnomer.

Well, to be fair, I don’t know how much I would have supported the idea of a Wolverine knockoff dressed in a red suit running around trying kill people. I think Ryan Reynolds is 99% of why the movie was good
They didn’t know Deadpool would do great because these companies are so out of touch with normal people. The have NO IDEA what “we” want 🤦🏻♂️

Dark phoenix had a 200M budget and its total gross was 252M. Deadpool however had an updated total gross of 782M with a 58M budget. It was one of the worse fuvking movie to have ever existed with a mediocre director and Fox gave them the double thumbs up while Deadpool was given turd for lunch

@@pemudabergairah Despite having such good actors and a big budget, they couldn't make the film interesting. It proves that a good Story and screenplay are also very much important for a film .
And to think this all came about because Ryan Reynolds read a Deadpool comic in 2005, where DP made a reference to himself being played in a movie by Reynolds.

@@kyze8284 yeah Reynolds was admittedly not a comic guy until someone gave him a copy of a Deadpool comic & in that issue he makes a reference to being played by Ryan Reynolds in a movie. Reynolds read the rest of it & instantly identified with the character. He’s essentially a superhero version of himself😆😂

Never underestimate the effect of maximum effort. Plus, it's Deadpool played right. Of course, it's going to make money.

"Super Anti-hero movie" is the correct label. Deadpool is nowhere near a "hero", he's a mercenary for [Insert Deity]'s sake. I feel Deadpool did well because he's not your typical boy scout good guy supe. His morals are questionable at best and often does things for not the right reason, but ends up doing the right thing.

What makes it really beautiful is that it is also a commentary on the studio by the filmmakers (:the old fashioned way, 2 swords and maximum effort)

Nah, he made the masses enjoy Deadpool. The rest of us already loved him from either comics, the game or animated stuff. The last two are owed to Nolan North. I've been a Deadpool fan for almost 12 years, WAY before the leaked footage. Not to say I don't LOVE the movies. I truly do. Hilariously I ended up making my mom a huge Deadpool fan when I took her and my dad to the movies to see the first one. Even my dad liked it. And he doesn't really do Super movies.😂

@@bluehornet197 That was FOX trying to force a PG-13 rating actually. TM, RR and the rest of the head crew fought against it and made sure it was rated R because Deadpool is one character that really cant be censored... for long.

Agreed. Deadpool is a brutal and surgical killer. Anyone can shoot guns but it's hardly impressive. Imagine if all the X-Men were just kitted out in military gear lol close up just suits DP's character so much better anyway, and I'm sure Ryan et al had no problems with that.
Awesome movie and Ryan Renalds was the perfect character for Deadpool
thats what solid writing and perfect typecast gets you.
As far as comic book hero type movies, this is by far my favorite and most fun to re watch. Its the right mix of wow + lets have a laugh.
I enjoyed the subtle jabs at fox and the budget in the movie too. Like why the rent weren’t any more X-men😂😂

It wasn’t RR’s fault for the Green Lantern flop. It was the script and the bad guy that they chose to do that ruined the movie. I’d be willing to bet that if RR was given free reign to make his own Green Lantern movie it would be a massive success ‼️👀😎👀😎👀😎👀😎👀

Just goes to show that the success of the movie really stems from good writing and love for the craft rather than flashy multi-million-dollar CGI scenes like the ones seen in most superhero movies.

They managed to get away and make it believable. Deadpool would without a doubt be able to forget something like this. I found it soooo hilarious and loved this scene

The studio fought tooth and nail to avoid the dreaded R rating thinking that it would kill the sales for the movie since it was a "superhero" film. However, the crew knew that it would never work if it was not an R rated film. It was a fight between the folks that were working spreadsheets and the people that knew the material.
Need a plan to get someone to have so little faith in me that they give me 58 million.
Deadpool is that twisted reality which everyone wants to live, and when u provide that kind of escape people get drawn towards it.
Its all because of Ryan Reynold's dedication and vision.
Maximum Effort: They literally blew their entire wad in the first five minutes and still crushed the box office 😝!
I remember seeing this and talking with the other people i went with that we couldnt decide if it was low budget or just purposely made to look low budget. This makes so much sense now

That movie had three things going for it. 1. The comics. The character was popular before the movie even happened. 2. Surprisingly good VFX when you have a relatively low budget for your movie. Not sure who the team was, but incredible job 3. Ryan Reynolds. Need I say more?

I wasn't a deadpool fan until I saw this film then I went back to the cinema 7 more times and loved it every time, thank god for unlimited cinema pass.
