    In Kenya there was a hitsong ' bablass'. Talks about hangover yet we didn't know that's where it came from.. the beats were worth it though. And we sang along while drinking

    It's called "Via Orlando" by Mahoota and Vetkoek, and there is a vocalist in it called Dr. Malinga who sings that part of having a hangover. I have a strong feeling that this is the song you're talking about.

    It's actually a Zulu word "ibhabhalazi" so typical South African style, most popular words get revamped to fit into everyone's language 😂. Even English speakers no longer use hangover as often, it's now "I'm babalazed" .

    Babalas is an English and Afrikaans word that comes from Bhabhalaza. Xhosa and Zulu do the same in reverse. Isitulo comes from Afrikaans: stoel. Isikolo comes from English: school.
