When I first built my PC, I plugged the HDMI cable into the motherboard. No build-tutorial videos on KZread told me to plug it into the graphics card and I had to troubleshoot for hours because my games kept running on integrated graphics. More tutorials need to say this.

It makes no sense why monitors aren't connected to the motherboard when the motherboard is the foundation of the computer that connects with all the other parts. _Common sense_ would tell you that you'd have to connect it to the motherboard. The only logical reason why the monitor has to be connected to the GPU is because it offers lower latency. On laptops, you can switch between integrated and dedicated graphics with software, but on desktop, you have to physically detach the HDMI cable and connect it either between the GPU or the motherboard? That is just worse.

Tbh this is valid advice for new pc users

In my country, nobody gets a gaming pc for Christmas.
