It all makes sense. Something the boy is ashamed of and someone wants to blackmail him. I have heard of this a few times in my long life. Could he be gay and afraid his family will learn of it. He may not have the money to pay the blackmail and it may be another family member or a family friend? It may be something that would embarrass him at school, or both. The mother does not seem to be honest about what happened or how it happened. I question the parents input on this matter. Something is not right here within the family.

I’m a paramedic and we are taught to not use children at motivation for people trying to get clean or to try to get people into rehab. We avoid things like “think of your kids” or family will say things like “ you’re a shit (insert title like mom or dad), think of your kids” and we do this for a few reasons but the biggest is for this reason here. Sometimes a parent like this mom will think “you’re right I am a shit mom and if I can’t be (child) mom no one should be his mom” killing the child can also remove the guilt that grandparents or even the other parent places when they say “think of your kids”. This is a delicate balance and removing the child is the only way a kid should be used in that manner, after the fact like “your child is with us until you get clean”. Have a plan and have it in action before you do anything and if you’re at that point the police and state should be involved because the outcome will always be better, they have tools where the courts can grant guardianship and help protect the child. The parent can either get the help or the plan can move forward because the real plan is to help the child and if the parent gets help that’s a bonus, the kid is the priority.

I knew somebody who lied as poorly as her. She rode the short bus and was in all special ed classes. The goal is to release them when they are just barely functioning to help them have independence, but it is because society hates being caretakers. Too much selfishness and greed.

Should pass a law that if you’re heavy into alcohol, drugs, are obese, living off welfare, have severe mental issues that you’re not allowed to have kids. Might piss some of you off by saying that but I really don’t care.

If that was something that actually happened, that _would have been_ amazing indeed. Imagine having a friend who could and would just do something like that for you with no advance warning. That's like a unicorn. The sad part is that her mom could've been that person if she (Janet) wasn't so messed up. Unfortunately, we live in the worst timeline.

Addicts often go into rehab to avoid prosecution for a crime they've committed. They want it to appear they are trying to get help. Using their addiction as an excuse for their selfish behavior. Disgusting.

Did she just say she was going to leave her son with a friend for 12 months then disconnected all social media accounts and can't give proper info on who she claimed she left him with??!! Extremely unbelievable!!!! She killed him, throw her under the prison please!!!!

No one walks around with specks of blood on their clothing....She didn't have to do that to her baby. She could have allowed her Mom to have the baby while she got her life together. I would be terrified going to jail for such a crime knowing that prisoners would discover my crime

Trouble is when you have moms on drugs and then try to take their kids away. They are already psychotic and decide if they can't have their kids no one can. She probably thinks she was doing the right thing or something. Can't imagine I'd be able to eat let alone smile after doing something so horrible.

This lady is psychotic, the fact that this female officer got her to calmly sit in the cruiser without any incident is astounding. Incredibly good work maam, i cant even imagine how hard it must have been to keep talking to her like a person when you know she did something to that little boy. Im heartbroken for that little boy, but genuinely impressed that this officer conducted herself in such a manner. Absolutely amazing work

I clicked on this, saw the photo of the boy and said, "nope. I can't watch this." I'm a 41 year old Army veteran and have a 13 year old son, and even I wanted to cry the moment I saw that happy little boy being so silly. What the hell is wrong with us?

She didn't even ask what statement was false when the officer told her why she's going to jail. I'm just flabbergasted by her ability to behave so nonchalant while her son's blood is still fresh on her body. It's bone chilling.

She is a sociopath; she has no connection to other people. She can mimic feelings when she thinks it might trick someone else, but she doesn't even understand why anyone would be alarmed by leaving their small child with a total stranger for 12 months, with no way to get in contact with stranger or child again. Her son was just something to manipulate her parents and her ex with, she never had any feelings about him one way or another.

The grandmother needs more props, she tried so hard to help those children. I know grandmothers who "don't want to raise another kid", she was at least trying to be a safe space for them while things where worked out. It must have broken her heart to hear what happened. The boy himself is the main victim, but the grandmother and brother are victims as well. I just pray the boys soul is at peace now.

Me too! As silly as it sounds, I’m with ya. If my dog is out for longer that 10 min, I’m going looking (in my fenced in yard) and I’d never drop her off at someone’s house that was a “sorta friend from a while ago” and not know where I dropped her off. Dear god and we’re talking animals, not kids 🙄

My little girl (cat) got out, spent two vacation days looking for her, my family showed up to help look. My sister "knew" where she was, sure enough three days later we found her. This was for a cat, the earth would have opened up to find a child.

Man I had the same reaction when my cat disappeared while plumbers were fixing up my drainage system and they had the door wide open. I was crying and calling for her while shaking her food bag. I then found her in another room with the door shut preventing her from coming out. Some people shouldn't be parents if they're this callous about their kids after spending years with them around
