    I've been running that cap for 2 years on my 21' 350xc-f with zero issues. If your coolant was bone dry that's poor bike maintenance. Checking coolant level is priority on pre ride checklist. I'm going to say the cap had nothing to do with it.

    It’s amazing how many stupid comments I get on this dumb cap. I know how to put coolant in and check it dumb ass, read similar reviews on the RMATV website. It’s a shitty cap, but I’m glad it worked for you. It’s funny how the problem solved as soon as the OEM cap was put back on. The tusk cap let’s coolant by and out the over flow.

    I learned my lesson with a Chinese-made Tusk lithium ion battery and I also got a brand new Chinese-made Moose CDI that was junk before I even took it out of the box. Although, I own plenty of Tusk tools and I have found the Tusk bar busters to be decent, but I will no longer buy Chinese stuff with moving parts or Chinese-made "automotive" electronics. The money saved is not worth the missed riding or failures on the trail.

    Don't use these caps. It s fun gadget but it's likely to fail. And if it fails when you have no fluids to replace the lost fluids, you're gonna be fucked. I learned the hard way, on a 4 day, 500 mile trip through death valley. The cap worked fine for 6 months, then in the middle of the desert it was boiling over constantly. (I managed to keep fluids in it for the rest of the trip so my engine is okay.) When I got home, I stripped my entire bike down, bought a hiflow water pump, and installed an overflow tank. Put it all back together and, BANG. 3 minutes running, and it boiled over. I put my OEM cap on and it's back to normal.

    the cap on your radiator was set for 2ATM , which is standard for guys that ride at higher elevation, now if your stock cap is rated high and you put a lower rated cap on your bike then it will leak, if not i would try to switch back to stock if it works fine then it's the cap and tusk should replace it --- and i just noticed that i am responding 1 year after you posted this.... so how did it turn out?

    The bottom line is if your engine is running properly and not overheating it doesnt matter if you use a 1.1, 1.8 or a 2.0 bar cap. Water boils at around 230 with a 1.1 and 255 with a 1.8.. If your motor is getting up to 230-255 you have overheating issues and the cap isn't to be blamed if your bike spits out water. Most properly running bikes stay under 215 at most so the pressure cap type doesnt matter if the water never boils and makes steam.. some people complain that as soon as they put on a 1.8 it spits out water that's because your bike is getting too hot and it could be from a number of reasons

  • @LCARSADV

    @LCARSADV

    Жыл бұрын

    It wasn’t an overheating issue at all as every other cap was fine. It’s just a garbage cap. The engine on this bike runs pretty cool as most properly jetted 2 strokes do
