Well said my brother, I am also disappointed in the way that the selectors and planning committee poor dision making on such an important event. I too believe that the two youngsters rhat you mentioned, should have been given a chance, especially Shamar joseph. I hope that these top officials took time out to see their mistakes.

This is how we are! Please bear in mind, it was a stranger who saw Shemar in the nets and said you have to play in the Guyana cpl team. While the team was in Barbados the PRIME MINISTER of that country asked, "why is SHAMAR not playing? If he is not playing when would he ?"

What I think is Sammy and Powell don’t think out of the box . When Charles was scoring slow they could have promote Pooran to open and let Hetymer go in at 3 where Pooran bat but no they keep push Charles and they cause it in themselves. This is a World Cup u want your best Hetymer playing all around the world he knows to play against world class bowler but yet on the bench because according to ppl his average not good to play for wi I like the fact that Rohit showed faith in Kholi even though Khoi had a poor World Cup but Sammy n Powell totally ignore Shamar and Hetty

Shamar Joseph should have been given a run, but let us be careful about speculating too much because Shamar could have disappoint as McCoy did! We were too predictable and too many of our batters were too inconsistent!

We the Caribbean people are more hurt than 13 members of the newly West Indies concluded World Cup demise. When I look back at the 13 players West Indies coach selected, and needed 2 more, Shamar Joseph and Obed McCoy wasn't part of the choosen 13 players the coach had already picked. If Holder did play, would he sit on the bench? If Shepherd didn't leave for emergency reasons, would McCoy get to play against Afghanistan? If England didn't rinse out Shepherd and West Indies, would McCoy play against USA & South Africa, and used badly by captain Powell? There're many questions, many hurts, but not for the bad choice and decision making by West Indies cricketing advisors.

Five months ago Shamar Joseph nursing an injured toe, took 7 wickets for the West Indies in a test match against Australia at Gabba. Five months later he was selected to the West Indies T20 World Cup Team. West Indies played 7 matches and the top fast bowler in the world, Shamar Joseph played ZERO. Why was he selected? Did they want to see how fast he could move from the pavilion to the pitch as a WATER BOY?.............. GO FIGURE!!!

I think he would have been a greater risk and as for Shamar, I have seen him bowling in T20 and from what I am seeing, he needs a little more time to develop his game in that area.

How do you know? West Indian people have a CANT Do mentality that is passed on to our children. We could always come up with why something can’t be done because of our limited thinking and lack of risk taking. Elon Musk, the richest man in the world was told he Can’t do most of what he ended up doing. Change your mentality and then your life will change. Stop this Can’t do BS, take a risk and see what happens. If we lost so what, we lost anyway. At least the youngster would have the experience and courage to do better next time.

I agree Hetmyer should play in place of Powell check is Avg.

Hetmyer was not waste because he is what the canadians call a wasteman. When the entire team was training in Trinidad, he was off by himself. Hetmyer does not seem to have the proper attitude. Shemar Joseph was wasted. He should have been allowed to play the Afganistan game to give him a chance to impress. I don't think the team would have performed any bettery if Hetty was given a game

WI made the most cardinal sin ever. The game against Afghanistan the bench should have been cleared to see what everybody a game. They wasted both players on the bench and that will haunt them forever. Too over confident and not having contingency plans cost them. In the future they should not pick players if they are not playing them.

I didn't have a problem shamar was a gamble bro stop it he has been expensive bowling fast and getting hits for boundaries we couldn't afford that the south match Africa was lost because our batting failed.

Hindsight is 20/20, so I'm using it. I have concluded that WI's coaching philosophy needs to be revised. The coaching philosophy of "roles" was perfect (10/10), horses for courses seem non-existent (3/10), and an understanding of sports psychology in the area of motivation and the culture that inspires peak performance wasn't sound 4/10. Let me clarify the last point. I believe the WI think tank believes the best way to inspire peak performance was to keep the 1st 11 unchanged no matter what, except injury. That is problematic and goes against horses for courses and roles in its purest form. The most significant impact of building a cohesive, well-tuned, peak-performing team is not keeping the same unit "come hell or high water." It is the sum of the activities taking place off the field. Take two scenarios: one where you have a team living in separate rooms in different hotels, training separately, only coming together on match day, and a chosen 11 (based on historical stats) play each time vs. a team that lives together, trains together, and travels together, but on match day any eleven plays from the squad of 15 (based on what's required for that day). Which team is likely to perform better?
