I'm convinced the nerfs happened largely due to Ubisoft catering to overwhelming community complaints. He definitely needed a rework, but instead of receiving improvements he's arguably worse off than he already was.

I think it's an issue of the devs launching the rework before being properly ready. Sure,the damage nerfs were necessary and the stamina drain (which should be gone on almost all characters tbh) removal as well. With that said, the devs didn't compensate for said nerfs enough to make it worth it. Same with Conqueror. The cherry on top was that they didn't fix the most glaring issues, like no Roll catcher, which they KNOW ITS NECESSARY SINCE HL HAVE ONE IN OS, or that the 2nd heavy is hella mid. He isn't a good duelist anymore due the damage nerf/removal of stun effect, he is too slow/clunky to be a harraser. The only role LB,again like Conq, sort of fill is to be a staller. And is not even a great staller considering there are a million of better options. Like my a friend said: "Reason to play LB?, competitively?, none". LB simply doesn't bring anything noteworthy to the table. And like a comment in the competitive sub said about tips to play conqueror "Play someone else"

@strikeforce1500 the moves that do still have the stun effect is really odd. It's as if they pulled names out of a hat who got to keep their stun.

I really can’t figure out why they took out his impale after parry and then drop warmonger. Would be cool to have it the same where if you wallsplat, LB would do bleed dmg too.

I remember this 1 match back when the game was fairly new. There was an enemy lawbringer that completely wiped the floor with us we could barely damage him, he countered everything and carried his team to victory after consistent 4v1 fights.

poor lawbro and bushi. Nobus kit is so outdated, you know can grab her right out of committed a chain heavy, it's dumb.

simple answer no he did deserve all the nerfs given to him. his whole playstyle was light parry punish and they nerfed it. buff his damage for light parries back, rework impale to be something else, buff his bash to have better s for the start up animations.

So I feel that Lawbringer is just a victim of time. When the game was young, defense was strong, and that made LB strong. However, as the gameplay evolved too the uber aggressive dodge cancel and orange blue mixup game, lawbringer just cant stand up to the competition. Their philosophy of trying to keep lawbringer faithful to his original design while fitting him in our modern era has left him were he is, which in my eyes is just a hot mess of what he used to be. It makes me sad, as I love lawbringer, but he feels like a complete wreck. Like he's been pulled apart, put back together wrong and then left for us to play as is 😢

The nerfs make me sad. He used to have good parry punishes but now warmonger,JJ and jorm have better parry punishes. I just want the impale to work off a parry and a dodge forward heavy that's feintable. Have a good day.

The devs really showed their favorite with the rework "We don't want impale on heavy because it's too rewarding" (Warmonger keeps her objectively better impale) "We remove stamina drain from top,because stamina drain bad" (Keeps it on BP) Then proceed to buff Warden's vortex while STILL draining stamina
