its just a summer release with very little hype around it, because no big names are behind it, no youtubers etc., however to call it failed is a stretch, its been very smooth launch and great experience, how long will it last? who knows but its been nothing but fun so far.

Private servers aren’t in good shape right now overall. If you want higher pop realms, you have to go to SoD or Era. I’m sorry man, but cash-shops do not scare people away anymore. If that was true, we wouldn’t have Turtle WoW. It is not realistic to expect a server to not make money. Do you want GM’s that actually login and respond to tickets and developers that fix bugs?

⁠yeah but your point was fundamentally flawed. You just said "I don't like cash shop, but I don't know or don't care how they'll come with funding " it's like saying"i don't like paying for car repairs, but I don't know or care how you pay for parts and labor for my repairs ". You can't expect ppl to put in their real life time and money maintaining the servers but at the same time not expect to pay for it. 🤦🏻‍♂️

@@Tebytorozo13 Servers have been supported in the past without a cash shop. So how is my point flawed, lol. All I said is it's not on me to come up with the solutions for every server. Some take donations for nothing exchange -- do I really need to say the obvious part out loud? I guess with KZread I do for some people haha.

@@DylanSmithOwns You have to ask yourself what kind of person would set up a private server. It's a lot of work on both the technical and social sides. Most hobbyists already run small(er)-scale servers, whether they are classic, role-playing focused, or something else. Those larger projects are entirely run by grifters. They won't get rid of the cash shop; on the contrary, they'll try to monetize as much as possible without causing actual backlash.

@GregorSamsara_ True. They are a lot of work, and the community, both the players and the ones who make these servers, are usually ungrateful or people who want to squeeze money out of people. Some people in the comments are losing their minds because I say that it's not my problem to solve the issue of supporting a server.. and it's actually hard to wrap my head around their points, lol. Am I supposed to go through life providing solutions for everything I dislike or don't approve of? Better yet, the solution for me in this case is not to support the server because the cash shop is only one of many problems. I even said to someone that many servers just ask for donations without anything in return and have had people support them. I've seen this numerous times. People just turn their brains off the moment they latch onto something they believe they can spin to their advantage to appear intelligent whilst making someone else look bad.

Private servers have took a big hit with the pressence of Blizz being a thing again and the populations on all servers proves that and the fact that people are interested in other games. The only server im aware of that has been running for a long time and have a population is Warmane and WoW Circle I think its called. Nost back in the day but we know what all happened there. Private servers are just not what they were and I think thats why they are draining today.

The only 2 long-standing Pservers have cash shops. I play on turtle and tbh the cosmetics/bags cash shop doesn't bother me and leads to stable income for the server team which in turn leads to consistent updates and good server upkeep. If done right cash shops are fine. I think its pretty lazy to say "cash shops are bad and im not gonna offer any kind of solution because ill never run a pserver". These are free to play servers, no sane server team is gonna deal with wow pserver spergs for free for a prolonged amount of time.

im playing on starfall and population seems healthy for now. im 23 and world is full of people but not overbearing that u have to wait for spawn in party of 5 for 10 mins just did /who and 1850 online. idk im not gonna think about it and just gank people as i level.

Man I’m just sick of waiting around for nostalrius 2.0. It’s becoming clear that that’s never going to happen and I just wanna play the game again. For anyone who is apprehensive about starfall, it plays fine. Starting zones aren’t packed but they are populated, finding groups isn’t that hard. The china problem from Everlook 1 seems to have mostly been solved. The staff still seem pretty whack but I just ignore the drama and play the game. There are some cool guilds and a lot of friendly people on. I’ve had a great time so far.

Yes ... empty server. Not a damn clue about making ppl know the existence of the server.

Not sure if this was directed at me or the OP, but I don't think people looking at these videos play on retail. I don't. I've been tempted but the fact of the matter is you have to choose one of the lesser evils if you wish to play World of Warcraft and it sucks. I wouldn't choose Everlook / Starfall though. I knew it would flop but against better judgement tried it out because a friend wanted to.
