Every good looking man gets propositions from other men often. That's not a secret or something to be amazed about.

I was approached once so I had to ask the guy why he chose me. He said something like, "Well, you're good looking and you're wearing the clothes." I was wearing jeans, tennis shoes and a shirt with a button down collar...common duds. I didn't know there was any significance. Live and learn. Nice fellow and I wished him good luck. Back to boat shoes, I guess.

@@wholeNwon similar situation, in Chicago in mid 90’s for an executive marketing class from NW after which visited a friend and girlfriend. Went out for dinner ran into a cute girl and started talking. My “ friend” left me thinking I’m gonna get lucky. A bad choice in my opinion what with not having his address, not rental car, or phone I was on street. I catch a cab and managed to direct the driver to his place. Outside phone didn’t work. Saw neon light and assumed hotel so started walking... when I got closer I saw what the sign said “ Eagles Mens Club”. After that pretty much the same. Walked back to my friends place and shivered the rest of the night.

Met Sam at the Chevron gas station in Trancas, CA (suburb of Malibu). Not being star struck, I just wanted to thank him for his contribution to the arts and the entertainment our family has received from his work. Sam struck up our conversation and then found out I had spent a number of years in El Paso (where his parents are from). That led to 20 minutes. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Not a pretentious bone in his body. What you see is what you get with Sam. Funny ... Katherine Ross (Sam's wife) was a star in the 1st movie I ever attended (The Graduate).

He was so dreamy and still is. As a teen I pined away endlessly for him. The only other Hollywood men that held a candle to him were Jan Michael Vincent and James Conrad. He was the only stand out in the movie Frogs. Without him it would have been utterly forgettable. I wonder if Cher had anything to do with casting him in Mask. I could see it if she found him as unforgettable as I did. He was like a studly version of Sonny. He is handsome without the mustache, but smoking hot with it. It's so awesome that he did finally succeed in spite doggedly sticking to him moral code. Good for him.

Before I met him the girls in the lab I worked in were always talking about Sam Elliot & one girl could do his deep voice & we all laughed. Later after we started dating I never mentioned what my boyfriend looked like just told them ,I loved his voice & thought he was cute. I brought him to the company Christmas Party & in his suit he was actually a hit of the party. I had many people at work if he was a guy from the movies lol , he’s a retired welder ha ha we have been married 10 years now he is still handsome & better than ever. I always tell he should do a podcast or read books because his voice is so soothing.

In Hollywood? Of course they hit on him. He's got IT in spades. His physical beauty is almost unmatched. Robert Conrad and Tom Selleck are his equals. Selleck has had a very long marriage to his wife and so has Elliott. Conrad also had TWO long marriages-one for 25 years with 5 children and his other marriage lasted 27 years. The second marriage was to a much much younger woman and ended when he was 75. All these super handsome guys stuck by their ladies.

It seems that most women like a hairy chest but it has to be on a certain kind of man. I don't understand this trend since the mid to late 1980s to be a hairless chihuahua. Young men shaving their bodies in the gym and taking selfies of their six pack of abs is so weird to me and probably my generation born in the 1950s.

His hairy chest was perfect and a sign of virility. I agree that shaving male bodies is repellent and looks like a Ken Doll-pink plastic But in the '4'0's and 50's, they even shaved actors' underarms. Check out Tarzan sometime. For women, chest hair is equal to large breasts on a woman to men . Women couldn't care less about six-packs.... sign of narcissism.

Sam Elliot was a great looking sexy guy but people rarely separate the "Hollywood" image which varies from the real person. People do not really know him. Personally I fail to see the attraction to the images of him because they are fake. Even in interviews celebrities do not show their true colors. As manly as he appears to be, some might find that image to be boring because most men are. Who is he really as a person? Who really knows except those he married or his family. People that get by on their looks tend to not work on themselves. The men that I admire most are not macho types. Why should I bother to write further? No one cares what I think yet perhaps they should.

He's too loud. But I like his acting. Loved him in "Murder in Texas" as Dr. Hill.

The question is inane. Why wouldn't he have had propositions from men?

Of course he was propositioned. Even Clark Gable and Clint Eastwood supposedly had to put out to get ahead in Hollywood. And I am not talking about women.

My favorite Sam Elliot clip is when he was on Gunsmoke the rancher who does not want him seeing his daughter throws an injured Sam over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes, seeing him so vulnerable was rare. When you get old you say things you regret and he apologized for criticizing the film Power Of The Dog when he said the cowboys resembled Chippendales dancers "who wear bowties and not much else" on stage. "That's what all these f---ing cowboys in that movie looked like. They're all running around in chaps and no shirts, there's all these allusions to homosexuality throughout the f---ing movie," He later apologized.

The title of this video is extremely misleading. The last 8 seconds of it mention he was probably attractive to gay men. The title should have been SAM ELLIOTT AND HIS MUSTACHE. 🙄

Why are the words VietNaaam and maaafia pronounced with this extreme nasality in the UK ? And yet not in the US. Always confused me.
