Well that would be valid accept when you realize that the deficit on home vs away games was close to 60-40 if you’re winning 60% of games at home it’s likely that your putting up better numbers. Home court advantage has deteriorated since then due to improved player mental against hostile crowds. Logically if you’re wining 60% or more at home noticeably blow that away the logical conclusion is that the number have less to do with rigging and more to do with home court advantage

1990 Hakeem HOME....... 233 blocks... 103 steals ROAD........ 143 blocks..... 71 steals So Hakeem had massive inflation of home stats in 90', just like Alvin Robertson in 86', and MJ in 88'... But these extreme cases of inflation were one-offs due potentially to personal issues that affected their home/road performance... Otherwise, their other years have the standard "normal" inflation that occurred in previous eras due to tougher road conditions (no days off, no private jets, etc) and the subsequent poor road records compared to today's teams.. Only 2 teams had .500 records on the road in 1988, while half the league does today (15 teams). To summarize, the "normal' inflation of home stats in previous eras was due to the tougher road environments and significantly worse road records that teams had back then, while the abnormal one-offs of massive home inflation like 90' Hakeem, 88' Jordan, or 86' Robertson are likely due to personal issues that affected home and road play.. So if this was looked into because Utah admitted to cooking Stockton stats, why just look at Jordan and not 2nd place player that year Mark Eaton who ALSO played for Utah. Simply put, even if you gave Jordan's home steals the same average as his away steals, he STILL wins dpoy and the previous year one could argue he was even more deserving with even a bigger gap of defensive stats and analytics over Michael cooper. So either way, he wins in 87 or 88. So weird how bad y'all wanna tear this man down who gave everything he had to the sport and doesn't even claim to be the Goat.

it's pretty common, when lebron played the Raptors in Cleveland and got 17 assists, by halftime he was credited with 5 assists he didn't actually get. that being said, there's a obvious agenda to this and it has to be looked at openly. like the guy only looked at 6 games that ABC, CBS and NBC don't have, they came from a guynin Latvia that "had" them on video cassette. he even talked about one steal that he said they gave to Jordan when it should've went to pippen cause Jordan tipped the ball and scottie got the loose ball. problem is, that steal would still be Jordan's. so they guy needs to learn the rules of the game before. but it makes sense considering Nick Write consulted on the article. they know LeBron is not better than Jordan so they are trying to knock Jordan down to lift up LeBron.

Nothing was rigged. I'm sure if you look at home and road numbers are different. This is stupid. People saw the games. They saw MJ getting plenty of steals and blocks. Even if this was a problem across the whole league MJ still would have had the highest average. If you reduce everyone's road averages by 50% , then the order of the overall rankings still doesn't change. News flash!!!. Players and teams often play different at home than on the road.

Take away his DPOY and he's still better than Lebron. Chris Broussard interviewed the guy who wrote the article and he also said. 1) This was a league wide thing, not just for MJ. 2) In the (only) 6 games he watched, MJ was still a dog on defense. 3) One game they recorded him as having 10 steals but he "only" had 6 that he counted. 6 steals is still crazy. Then add the fact that Nick Wright admitted to playing a part of this article, who is a paid Klutch Sports operative, this whole issue doesn't move the needle at all. Also, 88 wasn't the only season he had 200 steals and 100 blocks..

It’s an interesting article and worth a read. They interview several statkeepers from that era who said stat padding the stars was normal. Especially steals and assists. They even did the research and watched the film to see MJs actual steals in the games and they were lower than what was recorded. He would have more steals that the other team had turnovers, that’s blatant fraud

If they would have had a three point line when Pete Marovich played and a shot clock he would have scored 60 a game in college……if MJ didn’t grow 7 inches between his sophomore and junior year of HS he never would have even been playing for the bulls in 1988…..worthless drivel 🤦🏼

subjective stats cannot be reviewed because there's no reason to believe the 2nd subjective ruling will be better than the 1st.. I posted a gif of one of the plays that Haberstroh talks about and it was a Jordan steal!!!.. I'll take the word of the original, professional score-keepers ove some guy 40 years later with an axe to grind.. These are subjective reviews of close calls and anyone can reverse a few by taking the most negative interpretation of every play. Here's the actual facts that aren't subjective - 2 teams had records above .500 in 1988 compared to 15 teams today - these tougher road conditions and poor road records is why we see normal levels of home inflation in previous eras, while the one-offs of massive inflation by 88' Jordan, 90' Hakeem or 86' Robertson are likely due to personal reasons that affected home/road performance for that particular year.

Jordan 6-0 in Finals plus no game 7, LeBum 4-6 and had to have Ray Allen and Kyrie save his ass. Without them he’s 2-8 in the Finals.
