Did Michael Cohen sink case against Trump? Hear what CNN panel thinks

Yes not amazing how CNN got russia collusion wrong for 4 yrs, got hunters laptop wrong, called lab leak a trump conspiracy theory which is racist and anyone who even suggests it as possible is a dangerous person who should be kicked off social media. And claimed rittenhouse crossed state-lines with guns that day to take on BLM protestors despite proof he was working in that state and been staying at friends house days before and used the friends gun! yet CNN despite his boss, friends parents , and police all saying otherwise just lied, CNN lied about cloth masks being a huge benefit when proven pre-covid and after covid to causing kids to suffer , and users having no benefits . Lied natural immunity was not a thing and Jab was only defense, yet immunity was at min better and at best the best defense . CNN called people murderers for calling all lock downs other than 1st that the cost would be great for kids education, peoples health issues that went un-treated and diagnosed, mental health would spike, people would lose income, and inflation would cause people to eat less and eat less healthy cheap food causing more medical issues, cnn lie lie lie

But the whole way that bragg was even able to subvert the statute of limitations was by trying it as a felony and connecting it to the election. Falsifying business records alone isn't enough for the felony charges they had to create to try him, they have to prove intent under his campaign. That's why they need cohen. The whole thing is political.

It very much taints the story that Trump was the one orchestrating all of this instead of it being done by others. Read the summary of Cohen’s own criminal case regarding this and it sounds an awful lot like Cohen working independently and then working with Trump’s accountant to get reimbursed several months later. If he could have pinned this on Trump at the time he would have, because it would have gotten him out of at least some of his own legal trouble, but he couldn’t. Now he’s revising history and got called on it.

It involves an alleged misdemeanor on which the statute of limitations has already expired, in conjunction with another alleged misdemeanor on which the statute of limitations has also expired, both part of an alleged election interference conspiracy that other courts have already said isn’t a crime. The prosecutor apparently didn't put together that the texts about the 14 year old were the motivating force for the phone call. It's pretty clear the defense "out lawyered" the prosecution. It's very harmful for Cohen to say that he called Trump specifically to get Trump's approval for the payoff. Then, there is a trail of texts (that the prosecutor should have had access to, also) that the defense produces showing that the reason for the phone call was something else entirely, namely a 14 year old. Is it enough to carry the day for the defense? Who knows? But it was a glaring mistake by the prosecutor. All of this could have been avoided if the prosecutor had put the texts and phone call in their timeline sequence. The "surprise" looks bad.

The problem is it casts doubts on Cohen’s motivations. If the defense can show he’s out for revenge, they can cause reasonable doubts around the rest of his testimony. Combined with his long history of falsehood under oath, the defense will try to make it look like he is a liar driven by revenge. If you take Trump’s name out of this and just consider the circumstance from a legal perspective, someone like Cohen is a disastrous witness for any prosecution. The beauty of American justice is that it should be blind. Meaning it doesn’t matter if it’s Trump or anyone else. If any prosecution can’t prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt, the jury should acquit. Like Trump or hate him… in this case, Cohen did more damage to the prosecution with his crap than he did to the defense. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They don’t need to bring up the documents if they can disprove Cohen’s testimony about criminal intent. Intent is a prerequisite of this crime. Without it, there’s no case. If Cohen is lying about this conversation he had with Trump, there’s no other evidence of intent. Signatures on checks and documents don’t explain WHY Trump signed them.

@Yankeepride03 Rump told Cohen that he had nothing to worry about because he was president. Rumps word means nothing. Ask the people who worked for him and never got paid. 6 bankruptcies. Do you know what happens to subcontractors that don't get paid. The people that did the work lose their job. Many subcontractors go out of business. He's word is useless. His presidency is proof of that. In 2016 the Republicans owned the house the senate and the presidency. What did he accomplish. A tax break for billionaires. Lots of promises but only one he delivered on.

I've followed CNN for many years (especially since Trump came on the scene), but I'm quite disappointed and disgusted at the way they're all trying to throw Michael Cohen into the fire. We all know that he has a dishonest past (you'd have to have been dead for the past 8 years not to know!), but, to me, CNN is coming across as trying to discredit him totally. It really makes me wonder if they're (not so) secretly pulling for Trump to get off.

Well best case. The call was disproven as talking toTrump even if he was misremembering it. The truth is that someone like Cohen took it upon themselves to do things with and without permission of Trump to be Trumps protector even when Trump wasn't necessarily asking. Cohen did this to gain favor and $$$$ from Trump - to be in his inner circle. This more common than you think for people in high positions or power. Cohen probably did a lot of things on his own volition to protect Trump. We'll never know exactly what was told or not told to Trump. Cohen's word is worthless given how much he has lied - you'll never know when he is telling the truth. Cohen even lied to the judge in his own allocution hearing according to Cohen.

The police knew they all were ones that had no evidence and wanted to clear their bad logs showing how bad the unsolved crimes looked, and also boost own clear up records which make their own records look good and i end my mate was charged with 1 dwelling, and had 14 dwellings taken into consideration- of those he did 3 i mentioned and 2 off the list and just admitted the erst as police made clear he would have to make double figurers and make the decision now. he got 120 hrs of community service and police pu in good word to how co-op he was and appeared really remorseful
