I'm not a qadiyani, nor do I support them. But I'm still inclined towards the fact that Isa (as) died (and then raised). To answer your question: Let me remind you that your great grandfather was not killed, nor was he crucified. Correct? So is your great grandfather alive? Nope. Dead. Allah (swt) uses one exact word (mutawaffika) every time he causes someone death. This is appeared 24+ times in the Quran, including 3:55 talking about Isa (as).. I want you to read the verse again please. Then ask yourself, why are we translating 'one' instance of that word differently than all other instances this word is used in the same context? Qur'an's corpus/text is very consistent, which is why this Book is easy to understand. The problem occurred when some "Sahih" ahadith mentioned the second coming of Jesus,.. but guess what? the same rumours are already present in the new testament of Christians (second coming of Jesus)... so who told them? Isa (as) told them? Nope. These are just rumours, just like Jesus son of God rumour, that got into our books. When Qur'an and Sahih hadith clashes, a Muslim must stick with the Quran. Be fair to yourself.

Furthermore the message was the same, which was to worship God alone and submit your will to him (God). But the Quran refutes many things in the bible such as Jesus as God's Son, and his death and crucifixion. Also refutes things like in the old Testament where God allegedly asked for the killing of infants women and animals. And these little mentions from the large amount the Quran refutes whats in the bible. So trust me when i say there is no copying from the manipulated bible because current Christianity is deviated from the teaching of Jesus PBUH of worshiping "the only true God".

The context that you understand doesn't make sense at all. I will give you some context. Jews believed that if a person dies on the cross his status is not elevated (Rafa) as death on the cross is considered a cursed death. Sometime they would kill the person first then hang him and some times they put the person alive and the death happened on the cross. Quran is denying that neither they killed him first nor did he die on the cross but Allah elevated his status. Nothing complicated here simple as 1 2 3. Also the verse says that Allah did his rafa towards him (not sky). Do you believe Allah is bound to one place and He is not everywhere? I know reality is boring so people love to stay in the fantasy world.

As a native Arabic speaker and a student of the language, this is my first time hearing that 'ra'faa' can also mean 'Ruh.' 'Rafaa' simply means to lift, elevate, take away, remove, and increase (promote) in ranking, as eloquently stated by the brothers in the EFDawah team. The fact that he wasn't killed is not only implied but also clearly stated in Quran 4:157 in any translation as well as in the Arabic. *I think he's equating the method of how Jesus was raised and whether or not he was killed prior to being raised, be it by the Romans or Jews.*

The Holy Quran clearly states that it is our soul and not our physical body that will appear before our Lord. یٰۤاَیَّتُہَا النَّفۡسُ الۡمُطۡمَئِنَّۃُ۔ ارۡجِعِیۡۤ اِلٰی رَبِّکِ رَاضِیَۃً مَّرۡضِیَّۃً “And thou, O soul at peace! Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.” (Surah al-Fajr, Ch.89: V.28-29) Another example found in the Holy Quran is in Surah al-Nur: فِیۡ بُیُوۡتٍ اَذِنَ اللهُ اَنۡ تُرۡفَعَ وَ یُذۡکَرَ فِیۡہَا اسۡمُہٗ ۙ یُسَبِّحُ لَہٗ فِیۡہَا بِالۡغُدُوِّ وَ الۡاٰصَالِ “This light is now lit in houses with regard to which Allah has ordained that they be exalted and that His name be remembered in them.” (Surah al-Nur, Ch.24: V.37) Again, without a shadow of a doubt, this also provides the connotation of spiritual elevation, as opposed to physical ascension. In Surah Fatir, God states: وَ‭ ‬الۡعَمَلُ‭ ‬الصَّالِحُ‭ ‬يَرۡفَعُهٗ “… the righteous work of a man exalts him” (Surah Fatir, Ch.35: V.11) Reflecting on this verse, if we take the meaning of rafa‘a, as many Muslim “scholars” believe, to mean to physically raise, are we to then say that there was or is not a single person in the entire Muslim Ummah who did not commit any righteous deed or work? This verse, if understood in the context of the “scholars”, would denote that a righteous deed results in a person’s physical ascension. However, we see that this is in fact not the reality. Thus, we are left with the only logical and sensible notion that rafa‘a cannot mean physical ascension; rather, when the object of the verb is a human being and Allah the subject, it means spiritual ascension and exaltation in one’s rank and status (unless the context is that of sleep).

However, it still does not connote or imply the meaning of physical ascension. In Sunan Ibn Majah, Hazrat Ibn Abbasra narrates: عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللہِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ فِى صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ رَبِّ اغْفِرْلِى وَارْحَمْنِى وَاجْبُرْنِى وَارْزُقْنِى وَارْفَعْنِى “When praying at night, the Messenger of Allah, between the two prostrations, used to say, ‘O Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, improve my situation, grant me provision and raise me in status.’” (Sunan Ibn Majah, Kitab Iqamah al-Salat wa al-Sunnah Fiha, Hadith 898) This hadith is narrated by Hazrat Ibn Abbasra who was well known for his knowledge of the Quran. Here, he has mentioned the prayer that the Holy Prophetsa taught us all to recite duringNamaz. Every day, devout practicing Muslims, who pray five times a day, recite this prayer between the two prostrations. Dr Imran shows amazing patience, this on its own is an example of the good behaviour and manners expected from any muslim. A very difficult topic handled with great diligence and care. Brilliant and constructive debate.

I never comment on these videos, but I felt obliged after seeing the ending of this video. Inshallah someone can speak to him further and invite him to Islam because he looked soo disheartened and upset when he was walking away and the other brother was telling him he’s not a Muslim. This was both interesting and painful to watch but the end was one of the clearest checkmates I’ve seen, so was worth the watch. The brothers’ patience was very impressive and I think I will subscribe to this channel. Finally a brother who said if the discussion wasn’t based on sincerity then there was no point and he ended it when he clearly saw the insincerity of the ahmadi guy, when he retracted his statement of jews being of the people of the book after saying they were multiple times. Allah guides whom He wills, but somebody should remind such people with Quran 67:10 and 10:100 after the evidence has been made clear to them and warn them that they are sending themselves to the Fire!

The meanings of such verbs and participles used in Quran are ‘to pay/repay/fulfill in full, or ‘to take away in full’. Mutawaffeka is a metaphoric word means taken away,,, & taken away doesn’t necessarily mean death everywhere,,,,in urdu mutawaffeka's only meaning is death But Quran isn’t in urdu,,,Arabic mutawaffeka means taken away & it never means death,,,later mujtahids translate this metaphoric word "taken away" in some cases "ascension with body & soul (fulfill) " & in case of tawaffani it means " death",,which are ijtihadi meanings of metaphor... So mutawaffeka never means death at all
