    Thanks Oscar! Great to see you here in my comments. Don't be shy, come here more often ;) The goggles (v1 and v2, not so sure bout g2) record the SRT file. Normally I would have converted this SRT (subtitles) to an CSV file (be text replace makro). But the super cool online tool I've linked to does all this. But it is based on the OpenTX logfile first, and can then JOIN the SRT from DJI. Only downside: on longer flights, where SRT is split by DJI - you only get the first. Or you manually join the SRT files into one... Impressive stuff: the programmer joins the SRT file with time sync to the OpenTX Log. Try this yourself in Excel - it's a nightmare. But as I said, if you just want a quick look at the performance (of an antenna) you can upload it there and get the chart there easy without using excel yourself. Lately he added to option to change the X axis from normal index (count) to the GPS Distance. This is uber cool - because that was exactly my idea in excel (assign bitrate values to certain distances - and make averages). greets, Mario

    @@Rcschim Hi Mario from Scotland.. I'm assuming the death ray 5 turn would provide similar results if the 3.5 & 7 turn are similar? • @Rcschim

    @Rcschim

    @@serval_fpv Thanks and greets to Scotland! About groundstation: never tried one for DJI - because I think you'd need 4 extension cables for antennas if you wanna wear the goggles while flying. Cables mean loss... You could try to mount the goggles (with antennas) on a tripod and stream the contents to a seperate screen. Friend of mine just did something like this with 10" screen and a raspi HDMI setup. Sounded a bit overkill but works cool. If you are really curious shoot me a mail to rcschim@gmx.at and I will forward your question to my friend.

    Great testing you’ve done there, keep up the good work👍🏻 I love my 3 turn Death Rays and don’t see how I could possibly improve on them. They work great for LR(out over 6 miles at low altitude), and with the 174° beam width they are not super sensitive to not being aligned perfectly, and work very well even directly behind you. Glad to see your testing makes them look like a great choice as well 😎

    Thanks. the duality only make sense if you also fly the DJI FPV drone (the potatoe). Else I'd recommend the X2 Air combo you listed. If you're in EU region you could order it here over my afiliate link bit.ly/40WMf7H but since you write FCC I asume you're in the us. Buy it directly at TrueRCs store or a faster shipping US retailer... Since my tests I mainly use the X2air combo - they are so convenient and have great performance! before that I would always use the 3turn helicals - but they are larger... Make sure to also swap the VTX antennas on your plane / copter if you use DJI O3. The stock O3 antenna isnt that good - and the "singularity" antennas from TrueRC again are really good improvement. Sounds like a TrueRC fanboy now - but I really like Hugo's products!

    Nice real world testing to get away from what appears to be non-standardized manufacturer's data claims! I find it interesting that your 3.5 turn helicals beat out the X2Air2 set up midway through test yet hold on at the end. Do you have a hypothesis to explain that result? Also I want to add that apparently the receiving antennas on the DJI-V2 goggle are located on a diagonal. When wearing the goggles the upper right side and the lower left side are the receiving antennas. The others are the transmitting antennas. So your results suggest that both the reception and transmission are needed to give the best bit rates. Not surprising given that is the DJI system.

    Nice test. It's hard to beat the helicals when you really need range. Per the comment about pagoda's not being as "omni" as the others, I feel like this is in your favor. Most of the time folks don't fly 1km straight up, and even if you do, it's perfect LOS, so probably won't have any issues.
