I knew that waiting to replace my joycons would pay off. I refused to buy more since everyone I know has joycon drift and it felt silly to replace them if the issue would come back. I have huge hands so I usually get fatigued using the joycons anyway so this is awesome. Thanks for the review. It was very thoughtful and you literally answered all my questions in the video.

I've been using the Hori left joycon d-pad for months and I haven't gone back to a regular left Joy con also I exclusive play in handheld mode only so it's perfect for me.

This is definitely something I’m interested in as my hands are rather large and I play almost exclusively in handheld. It totally changes the look of the system which I’m always a fan of 😁

Good video. Love this product. My local game store has these in stock with black thumb sticks. I play a lot of twin stick games and I can’t wait to get them Just one small thing for anyone wanting a pair: they are not wireless and only work in handheld. BUT this means there is no battery to charge. They work in handheld mode straight out of the box

I'm still wondering if I should get these. I wanted to get these because I thought I wouldn't have to bring my Pro controller everywhere with the switch, but then I realized I have to bring the pads everywhere with me instead lol since they don't fit in the case, although it would be nice to be able to hold the switch and pro controller at the same time which is what these would allow me to do. It's a shame it doesn't have gyro control capabilities or the hd rumble, but I figured it wouldn't, because that's some pretty hefty tech. Nonetheless, an Excellent review NFG, very thorough. Thank you. 🙏

Hmmm I might get these for smash ultimate just when ever I feel like playing hand held since I main Ken and don’t want to mess up my joy cons when I do precise inputs.

Those joy-cons remind me of that handle cover thing the 3DS had as an add-on you can buy separately, I personally like the OG joy-cons, mainly since I'm old fashion, and plus, I like putting the Switch in my pocket, reminds me of the Gameboy days. Lol

@@edgar9811 no drifting issues whatsoever and they are much more comfortable to hold with the switch for long periods not like the joycons I would say the battery use is exactly the same, I highly recommend purchasing these as long as long as you don’t mind not having rumble and motion controls. It doesn’t bother me at all not having them

Would u say the splitpad pro thumbsticks are as accurate and precise or close to a pro controller thumbstick precision and accuracy?? Or are the splitpad thumbstick accuracy and precision as terrible as the joycon thumbsticks??

You my be part of a small group who likes the directional buttons. I just prefer a d-pad for 2d platformers and I find a dpad a lot comfier compared to the directional buttons. Everyone has a different play style and yours might just fit under the parameters for directional buttons over a dpad.

The answer to the question is no, they did not make better joycons. Joycons were specifically designed to be able to detach and slide into a full controller sleeve, along with act as 2 controllers instead of 1. The splitpad pro cannot seem do either. Now whether or not they made a nice controller for the switch, idk.

GhostDrow but these aren’t drifting little things, have proper analog sticks and are much more comfortable to hold much better in my opinion
