I get how much work it took now.

That last bit was so beautiful. I have full blown Stockholm syndrome in regards to this book, because I was genuinely touched by seeing George with Euron on the deck of the Silence with the eldritch horror rising from the depths. That was enjoyable, and this was executed beautifully.

Hey Ya'll! You might be here because you've seen a recent video interview with Barristan Selmy's actor (Ian McElhinney) reporting this idea as a fact. (sigh) Ian McElhinney does not have any insider information on this. Why? You can tell in the video. He expects the interviewers to know more than he does: *"I don't know if you know more than me about this..."* It sounds like he heard it from a fan, or read it online somewhere, and is now regurgitating it as reality rather than as the bad fan theory it was and is. This happens all the time with news, especially on the internet. Be skeptical and always read/listen for context!

Usually characters in animation have large eyes (because they appear way more expressive) but I went with small eyes to make it seem more real. And I didn't put black outlines on the images even though maybe I should have, to make the characters pop more. I kind of wanted to try subverting animation tropes with this, I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks Nico, I would say though this is a fairly recent channel and ya know, people have to "pay their dues" and all that. I still stumble across new channels every few weeks I really like that I wish I ran into sooner. It's the way of life, everyone must abide.

@@AdmiralKird Ok, I looked again and it looks more like a shadow eldritch abomination with tentacles, if that's not it maybe i should start wearing my glasses. Either way it was fantastic. I just assumed krakens because of the kraken on the Greyjoy banner, and the fan theory about Euron summoning krakens with the blood of holy men to sink the Redwyne fleet.

This video has a musical number... I can't even express how happy I am that you made this, I love your channel so much man. With the years wait seemingly not near it's end , I appreciate having channels like yours fill the gap.

I don't think HBO and George had a secret deal years ago. But I do think since he stopped giving time estimates for the book... he has personally decided on his own to wait the show to end for either finish writing or publish what he already wrote. My proof is Fire and Blood. He wrote Fire and Blood after he stopped giving time estimated for when Winds would be finished. He stopped giving updates because he doesn't want to lie to people about...

Yes, and he said that he is in fact not writing The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. Recently he said that hes not knowing what comes after TWoW, whether it is A Dream of Spring, Dunk and Egg or Fire and Blood 2.

Loved this! I think this conspiricy theory is just fans wishful thinking. One day George will finish this book. Dream of Spring will probably drop after GoT has gotten an animated remake 2030. Unless George cuts a secret deal with Disney (who'll by than legally own ALL entertainment and fun on this planet) to delay until after the Game of Thrones x Star Wars x Marvel crossover septology.

I was very pleased that it came off that way, I was trying my best to give him some semblance of an arc and making people feel for him, moreso than he himself might ever want to express externally. The whole thing is a parody but, when I read some of GRRM's words at times I feel this type of anguish through the notablog and wanted to try and express that.

Honestly after only just discovering your content now I can easily say you're one of my favourite Asoiaf KZread guys, you've got that same theory savy brain but it's all built around meta knowledge as opposed to obscure book passages. Combine that with really nice quality animation that must have taken ages, and the ending sequence looked amazing btw, and you've really demonstrated how great you are, looking forward to more of anything from you.

There's quite a bit of playing with the frame rate. Most of it is at 12 frames per second, but the last minute is in 24fps, although GRRM's motion and some characters are still done at 12fps.

I love this and I gotta say that you're already my favourite ASOIAF-youtuber, because your videos are hilarious af, have some very interesting research, that not really anyone else has (Soooooooo much math, damn). Also your videos are the opposite of always the same - at least so far ;D - specifically changing your style up with this video with this amazing animation style. (I was like "What, just 12 minutes, after waiting so long?", but when I actually watched this video (twice already) I realized why you needed so long and tbh you didn't take as long as one might assume for doing such amazing animation). And I'm not even gonna start with the song and the images you pulled out for that, cause, damn, they were just great. So, tl;dr: This video made me laugh very hard, made me learn new things and made me be astonish by what I just watched.

This was worth the wait

The weird thing is 90% of it was written back in December before he left HBO, and after that happened (where ATT, after the merger, got way too involved with how he had been running HBO for a decade) I felt rather bad I was creating this parody in such a way - but I was so far along to make any sizeable changes. I just hope it came across that the point of his character in this parody was a reflection on the theory itself of how nonsensically dumb he would have to be for this theory to be legit, not an interpretation of who he is. Some of his interviews he speaks quite a bit about GoT and their decision making process and the self-awareness side of it for selecting different shows, and he seems like the type of person that would be effective at managing any company. I'd recommend watching them (his character design comes from one of them). As a fan overall I'm disappointed he's not helming HBO anymore.

First heard Admiral Kird on Maester Monthly(awesome podcast!) & really like all three vids on this channel. Each video is very different which makes me wonder what else he has planned! Much more content I hope! Not sure why but I have problems using Reddit - pages won't load, etc. I really like the ASOIAF series & enjoy the more intelligent analysis. KZread is more easily accessible so I tend toward those content creators who post on KZread. Even the podcasts which are audio only. So happy I discovered this channel!

Thanks Bradley, Maester Monthly was some good times. I'll always try and keep putting out things that are uniquely different yet cut from the same sort of cloth. Reddit as been doing strange things lately with their redesign. If it won't work for you there's also westeros.org's A Forum of Ice and Fire which is overall similar in a more traditional online format.

They're probably not thaaaaaat far off. It's a simple Future Value calculation from 2014 of what TWOW would have earned by 2019 if it released in 2014, then comparing that number to the value of what TWOW would earn in 2019 if it came out that year, with a Present Value (2014) calculation run on the difference between the two. They're fairly rudimentary in the number of factors they take into account. There's no accounting for a decrease in book price, for example, but to offset there's also no factoring in for higher-priced limited editions, reselling new bundle sets, cost savings with ebooks, etc.

Well, I did a big write-up on it on the community tab. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

I thought at the beginning of 2018 that George would be finished by early 2019 and would launch TWOW alongside the launch of GOT S8 to boost sales even though they would've already been good. Not that it would've been delayed but that they wanted to keep a similar time span which is why after season 7 I read them all for the first time and so would he ready by then lmao

Relatively speaking this video took a long time to complete, and while it's not like TWOW at all, the one thing I learned is you really don't know when something like this will be done - you try and put the time into it and eventually you'll start to hit the clearing in the forest and hopefully it's enjoyable when it's done. When GRRM says it'll be done when it's done... it's just so accurate at least from my perspective. There really is no discernible timetable when you're in the forest and no way to see how long it will take - just hitting a timetable like that is near impossible. But you shoot for next week/month and try and try and eventually it'll be done.

Oh my god this is so accurate! The ratings actually did fall, a lot.

The "quality ratings" for S8 only fell because there were people rallying to make them fall - there were calls by people enmass to downvote them. In social media they're called "brigades." The viewership ratings still rose. The episodes of S8 are not that much different in quality than S5-S7, in my opinion.
