Hi! I feel like this wasn't communicated strongly enough but this video is NOT my content. Please please DO NOT interact with my channel after watching this, this is just a PSA from the mod team. As mentioned in my comment, before releasing this I disabled monetization (EDIT: as of Dec 28 I re-enabled monetization on videos other than this one (EDIT 2: a lot of people are telling me to turn all monetization on and considering all drama is basically dead I don't see much of an issue with it, yell at me in the comments if you disagree)) on my videos because I didn't want to gain anything, because principally I find that abhorrent. In retrospect I should have made a burner account solely to release this video but unfortunately did not have that foresight, so here we are. My deepest apologies.
*3:20 Binomial distributions can't be applied to any scenario without the possible need for corrections. In our case it is a really good estimate that we can improve by examining biases in the data; nonetheless the intuition of a binomial distribution still holds.
UPDATE 1: Illumina is actually in the 82.5 percentile (not 91st) as pointed out by Do_The_Upgrade on reddit. This does not change the ultimate conclusions, although the error should have been caught. Unfortunately we didn't place as much time on the "meaningless" example verification as we should have.

UPDATE 2: 10:40 I misinterpreted what Dream said while writing the script. Apparently he does not delete mod folders regularly. What he had were multiple mod profiles, and during the investigation he ended up deleting his specific 1.16 speedrun profile because he was frustrated with the investigation. (source: Dream)

To put this number into even more perspective: The Avengers had a 1/14 million chance of stopping Thanos. You have a 1/292 million chance of winning the Powerball lottery. Dream had a 1/7.5 *_trillion_* chance of having a legit run (and that's being generous to him.)

this is genuinely one of the most interesting videos ive ever watched. i dont even care about dream or his speedruns, but i love the explanation of the math in relation to how minecraft itself functions, and how he simply debunks dream’s claims without attacking him. not to mention this dude was brave as fuck for posting this when dream has such a large following.

So, let's sum it all up. 1. Dream cheated in a speedrun. 2. He called the professionals who called him out haters. While aware of his cheating. 3. He proposed false evidence to these professionals. Again, while aware of his cheating. 4. He let his fans harass these professionals for months on end. Again, while aware of his cheating. 5. He admitted that he cheated after the noise died down. And he got away with it. Yeah, I sure do wonder why people don't like him.

it's not corelated math though it's just statistical math, he calculated the combination of the loot he got, not the rarity of the individual objects.

You can also use some math to disprove Dream's statement "This File has been uploaded 10 minutes after the stream" in one of his twitter post. By using the in-game time, His seed and the Stream length to determine his exact IRL time. this you can use this to see how long he has been on the files and if it is over 10 minutes. Then he is likely cheating.

Ok I understand everything now and my verdict is: All of this it's stupid you can't prove nor disprove anyone because you can't disprove chance. Chance is a fact, the laws of the universe no one can change so while dream's run has such a low change of being real you can also not say it's fake. Edit 2: Btw I'm not saying he should've gotten away with it in saying that nobody had a way to disprove the other completely. I agree with they're idea to remove the run due to the impossible chances and lack of evidence they have to keep it up and the suspicious behaviour of dream deleting his mod folder regularly for some reason the only logical reason is to remove it. EDIT 3: Dream is obviously the most likely the list here that's what I'm trying say but there is a small chance of him not being though I doubt it and most of you probably do as well so please stop telling the obvious

Well its easier said than done. Considering he had over 14 mil subs and lots of small streamers and youtubers using him for the hatred content to get the clout. They see this an opportunity to grow for their channel. Not just that, i can also see why he felt that the investigation was biased. He was the biggest guy here in the server. And thats why he become the first attention on everything that he did. People will try to dig up even more to prove that he was wrong or cheated on every single video that he made. But no one cares if other speedrunners are cheating or so. That was simply cuz they are just a basic minecraft player. They arent as big as Dream. And that makes Dream as an easier target to be criticized

The fact that he had the audacity to accuse another speedruner (korbanoes) of cheating still baffles me
Its funny how videos saying that dream speedruns are fake were basically memes, but now they might have actually been true.

i dont even know who to trust, 1 in 177 billion or trillion MIGHT be possible but i might be wrong here, that's like winning a lottery 5x in a row. im on geosquare side on this one. idk how dream would explain himself to this one

@@pharasite3011 yeah and what sucks is it might mean that his other runs were fake too, though that's not confirmed, because it is really weird how he decides to cheat on this one speedrun, and not all his other ones. Still, I'm not saying he did cheat his other runs, just saying that it might be a possibility.

@@funtime1548 im still with geosquare as dream stated they did not take into account his other 5 speedruns but that is because those other 5 speedruns happened before the 6 where he cheated and it is clear that he just started cheating after he got mad with his bad rng that he was getting in those first 5 speedruns
