Cliff always modelled himself on Elvis from the start. Does he have any proof he met him? So as Cliff was such a mega fan, there's no way he would have refused a photo.

Look, Elvis lived his life to the full and I would’ve done the same if only unfortunately for Cliff Richards, Elvis was in a totally different league

It was 1976 when this happened and Cliff has told this story a number of times over the years. Im a massive Elvis fan and to me its not an issue. Whats not mentioned is when Cliff almost met Elvis in 1959 in Germany and there is home movie footage of Cliff knocking on Elvis' front door to meet him. Unfortunately, Elvis was on leave in Paris.

Another one for the wokes to moan about.

You only have to listen to Elvis Presley's live performance of Unchained Melody to see he blows any Cliff Richard performance out of the water by a country mile. Elvis was clearly very ill yet and still blew the doors off with that performance. Cliff is just jealous.

In 1981, the doctor who had treated him was charged with 11 felony counts of overprescribing drugs but was acquitted. He maintained his medical license until 1995 when it was permanently suspended by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

It doesn't matter how the person looks, if you're a fan you'll accept looks as well. Cliff worded what he said completely wrong cuz it came accross terrible

Mind you, if you had a fat Elvis picture on your fridge, it might put you off snacking between meals. I think he should have done it. Incidentally, Cliff seems quite old and frail here. As an elvis fan for 40 years i must say his comment was honest . In 76 elvis wasnt in great shape at the start of 76 . He got himself fitter in mid 76 too

I wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Elvis Presley as my mum (a huge Elvis fan) married my dad who was better looking than Elvis but had a similar look.

Cliff's speech about Elvis Presley is regrettable. Regardless of Elvis' physical condition, him rejecting "Elvis" for the sake of "weight" is a small thought. The importance of Elvis as an artist and human being is that he should be taken into consideration at this time and not his weight. Elvis, unlike Cliff, never made distinctions regarding people's color or weight!

I agree with Biggins and Cliff, at the end of Elvis life he was big and awful and people who idolised the image not the person. It was sad that at the end of his life he was heard to die in the bathroom and people who tried to help couldn’t get to him.

Amazing, if Elvis was my hero what ever I felt about his weight gain it would never be something I commented on in public, however Elvis got to be the size he did was his issue, we all have issues in our lives and I’m sure Cliff would not want anything said about him, but then I expect as he’s lived his perfect Christian life he won’t have anything in his life that he wouldn’t be open about.

Elvis was a great talent but he died at 42 and near the end someone else off stage was singing bits for him and he couldn't even cope with a piano or holding a microphone. Somehow his inherent talent was still visible but he was a mess.

What a non-story. Next John Lennon will be attacked for his 'Fat Elvis Period' comment. Elvis 1968 was beautiful, then the fried bacon and peanut sandwiches took over, 8,000 calories a sandwich, and he often had two of them, and all before bed. And no one telling him that this probably wasn't a great move.

The CPS should have let Cliff Richard's multiple victims prosecute him in 2016. The CPS also protected Jimmy Savile and Prince Andrew.

Michael Jackson was good looking before he changed his image the same with elvis both at there best where amazing cliff was only stateing a fact in his prime elvis was good looking and could sing the pants of these younger generation
