Did Brock Purdy silence critics in win vs. Lions, Ravens unrecognizable vs. Chiefs | NFL | THE HERD

Спорт

The San Francisco 49ers bounced back with a 17-point comeback to defeat the Detroit Lions 34-31. In the second half, Brock Purdy finished 13-of-16 for 174 pass yards and 49 rush yards, a touchdown and a 132.8 passer rating. Colin Cowherd credits Purdy's big half, then discusses whether the QB silenced the critics or not. The Baltimore Ravens defense kept the game close in their 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs but the offense could not get going. They had a season-low 81 rush yards and Lamar Jackson finished with 326 total yards and two giveaways. Colin questions the Ravens game plan in their heartbreaking loss.

I don’t understand this narrative that Jordan loves somehow outplayed Brock. Jordan, love is the quarterback that threw two interceptions, his biggest play of the game were not completed passes, but passes that drew a flag for PI. Most of his other passes were dink and dunk plays. And then he closes the game with a lame duck Noodle across the body throw for an easy Niner interception to seal the game. I’m just failing to see how he outperformed Brock. But I understand that that is somehow a narrative that the media is working with. The weather was definitely a factor, It was pouring very hard and Purdy didn’t have that good of a game, but neither did Jordan love.

I can only think that the Ravens believed that the Chiefs would focus so much on the run that passing would catch them off guard. Even if this were the case, it still doesn't excuse the fact that Harbaugh should have adjusted.

This is frustrating, just because these analysts didn’t realize the chiefs defense is arguably the best defense in the nfl, doesn’t mean Lamar isn’t great, what team scores a bunch against KC this year, they haven’t allowed 10 points in the second half all year

Purdy is 1 elbow injury away from having made 2 back to back superbowls. McCaffrey couldn’t carry last year after he got injured, Samuel couldn’t do anything with a backup. If Purdy wasn’t injured last year it would have been 2 years straight going to the Super Bowl. Not sure if they would have won, given the chiefs being the chiefs. But Purdy is the guy and everyone needs to accept that. This is coming from a Packers fan btw

I didnt expect Lamar to win however that fumble/touchback would have changed the game...Ravens' number one defense had taken over the game. Down 3, there would been less pressure on Lamar

With that touchdown I like to think they would realize it's now a close game, start grinding the ball with the running game and take over. Admittedly Kansas City's offense had really slowed down in the second half and the debate is did they slow down intentionally to keep some plays in the back pocket for the Superbowl. Maybe KC slowed down intentionally, maybe Baltimore's defense had figured them out, we never get to find out because Zay Flowers committed two of the worst mistakes back to back I've ever seen in a playoff game.

Man i hate it that they always say Kittle, Deebo, CMC and leave Aiyuk out like he didn't have 1000+ receiving yards and made some of the most clutch plays all year. Last season and the season before he wasn't playing great but him and Purdy got something going and hes made a lot of the mist clutch plays all season long. He got snubbed for pro bowl for real.

Colin, the best way to evaluate Brock Pardy as a QB would be to discuss his physical skills, his poise, his vision, his processing, his anticipation, etc. Discussing his teammates' skills tells me absolutely nothing about Brock Pardy. Oh, and you might want to mention his glaring weakness, that is, if you can find one.

Mahomes has had one of the best Coaches in history in Andy Reid. Lamar doesn't seem to have ever had that same mentor in Baltimore. He's been playing for 7 seasons now, and he still plays like doesn't have a clue what he's doing sometimes. He's got the talent and athleticism, I just think he needs better coaching.

Kyle’s “can’t come from behind,” narrative is because when his game plan doesn’t work, he’s never had a QB to bail him out. He now has someone that can go off-script and make plays. Hence, back to back come from behind wins.

The most important thing about Purdy is, he is a winner ..... he finds a way to win. Sure he has bad games, but show me any QB, including the great ones that don't. Yes he is in a great situation, but show a QB that has a great year or years and isn't in a great situation. Manning won in 2016 with the Broncos, tell that wasn't a great situation. Of course we want QBs to play great every quarter of every game, but in the end the score at the end of the game is what counts.

Brock Purdy is 4-0 in playoff games when he starts and finishes the game and 4-1 overrall. That's more playoff wins than Dak and lamar and jalen and this is his First year as a starter... He doesn't have physical gifts like mahomes, lamar or allen. But he can read the field and make big plays when its time to do and hes proved it
