My son is at A&M and a big baseball fan, and we followed the post season closely. While it was disappointing to lose in the finals, that sting was mitigated by the prospect of an exciting future. Schlossnagle's explanation for leaving TCU for A&M was to build not just a great team for the Aggies but to revolutionize college baseball. He was doing this and it was thrilling. Games were selling out all season and there are plans approved to substantially increase the size of the baseball stadium. That he left for UT only adds insult to injury, but that's not the big take away. This is not simply a circumstance of a coach leaving for a rival, but of a once bright future quickly gutted, and gutted in a way that makes it hard for anyone to ever trust this clown again. I'm a UT grad and I wish nothing but failure for him at UT or wherever else he may slither to.

Actually the solution is locking in the coaches. The NFL doesn't let a head coach leave to become a head coach for another team. College should be the same. A head coach shouldn't be allowed to leave for a head coaching job at another school unless the university signs off on it.

These actions sums up Tx… low class. Announcing the firing of their current head coach on the day of world series game 3, & working behind the scenes for months w/ Schloss on recruiting against its rival… an absolute stain on collegiate sports. They should be investigated but NCAA doesn't have the stones because of the money. What's funnier, tx calls themselves big brother over A&M, but they follow A&M into the SEC when they see A&M’s financial success vs Tx trying to go solo with the pathetic “Longhorn Network”. Then they get their baseball coach because they got tired of “little brother” embarrassing them for the past 3 years. It seems like Tx is nothing but a follower and A&M is the one that lives rent free in their heads. A&M may not have the natty’s but they do things right, have superior facilities over Tx, and maintain integrity. I can't wait for “big brother” to come into the SEC and become the step brother no-one wanted & watch their programs compete in the big 3 sports. No fan of A&M but I can say since they came into the SEC, Ive enjoyed going to their facilities & fan base is awesome… but still a cult.

I sure hope A&M fans weren’t taunting Tennessee fans in Omaha. I made the trip to College Station back when we first played A&M in football and all I can say is we were treaded first class. Great fan base, no running the mouth after a tough win for A&M and we truly enjoyed being there. A&M has been through some bad decisions on coaching hires just like we have been through. Heck, our former A.D.’s actually cause me in 2017 to stop donating to the Tennessee Fund. Now, I just watch from home after 48 straight seasons of sitting in Neyland. Aggies, remember this: Texas thumbed their nose at the SEC citing, we have the Longhorn Network, we don’t need the SEC! That should have been the only offer to join extended. No more!

TexAgs owner sent his junior reporter to ask that question. Real question is does Texas A&M System and Texas A&M Athletics Department have a problem because an outside legal entity is massively controlling A&M PR. Recommendation: A&M coaches should never believe TexAgs is their friend. TexAgs will do whatever to destroy reputations on your way out of College Station Texas. Trev Alberts isn't safe. We saw how TexAgs unraveled the Mark Stoops football hiring after Jimbo. Ross Bjork knew to run out to Ohio State. Last week TexAgs pulled the pin and tossed this question into the post championship press conference like a terrorist. Gentlemen don't behave as such. Respect the kids and the adults. I don't fault the coach for his comments. As a grown man I too would struggled responding following a championship loss. We don't want humans getting hurt. Aggies need to be managed. Let's not have another bonfire tragedy. TexAgs jumped the shark last week.

This is a super uninformed take. Texags had heard major rumblings about this since April and tried to privately ask coach multiple times before this. Hey kept dodging. They waited to not disrupt the post season out of respect for him and the team and when asked it was done respectfully . Coach and the staff also went the extra mile to be shady about this with possible burner phones recruiting aggie players while still being paid by A&M. If you think Texags is the problem here clearly you have something against them because this is a foolish take

@@thekey1682 TOXIC and HATE. This below might help you. I can't speak for all Aggies. But from what I've read, Aggies have treated the relationship between the two universities like a toxic relationship between a man and woman. They left for a better one. As an example of a good relationship, after a fortuitous A&M victory over a great BAMA team in 2012, some Aggies walked into a BBQ joint in Tuscaloosa. It was full of BAMA fans. The Ags didn't know whether to stay or leave . To their surprise, the BAMA fans gave them a standing ovation. Great sportsmanship NEVER seen in Austin. Contrast that with last Monday, the day of the final game of the CWS Championship game. That morning CDC, the UT AD announces the firing of their baseball coach. The A&M team had already heard rumors that Schlossnagle was leaving for UT. CDC could have waited one more day. Was this announcement designed to mess with the heads of the A&M players? These AD's pour a lot of money into the mental attitudes of their athletes. Just when Aggies had thought they left behind what Kirk Herbstreit calls the "Cesspool of Austin", they are followed to the SEC by a toxic girlfriend!

And even more indicting is the fact that he is now exposed as a dishonest charlatan who cares NOTHING about young men or loyalty. Guys like him, and Lincoln Riley, always end up on the trash heap of history in the end. Rich but ridiculed … and who is to say that 3 years from now, the Texas Tech AD comes along and offers him a few shekels more (and the promise of a better looking boyfriend) so he bolts. Then 2-3 years later, the Baylor AD comes along and offers him a few shekels more (and an even better looking young boyfriend) and he bolts again. Who on this planet would EVER allow their son to be in this sociopath’s orbit??
