I'm thinking about this one the thing about the dual clutch is there was a pretty high failure rate and it was expensive to repair. These ZFs are supposed to be pretty Bulletproof

I prefer almost everything about the interior over ours (B8.5). Not so much the outside though. I feel like they made this car a bit more boring, but that’s just me.

I have to agree, I don't think its that much of an improvement in terms of styling. Some of the updated LED lights do look cool, thats about it imo

I'll give you that bro, the front of our B8.5 looks aggressive and pissed off! On the B9 they made it look like a bloated face just like a puffer fish while blown up...

I love this car as a sleeper. Not everything has to yell out for attention.The interior is amazing. The S5's droppy rear roof isn't for me (I guess some like it). RS3 is amazing if you can live with the size. All three are great cars.

I really like the B9 generation. As Audi does it's not a leap but more of an evolution and I like that. Subtle and yet fast and luxurious. Perfect blend for a daily driver like my B8.5 S4 and yours. I'm with you on the S5 sportback as a great option, looks better and more cargo room. Also more pricey. I may wait for the new A7 to come down and get a CPO as my next vehicle, I need more room with kids.

I think the aftermarket shops will come out with a nice upgrade to the transmission tune Dynamics to help with that kind of dull tone...not to mention with the aftermarket exhaust helps

I bought an S4 a few months ago. I chose a very clean, low mileage B8.5 for the simple reason that the B9 doesn’t come in a true manual.

@@darket4826 if I prefer the driving experience of a manual transmission, it would be stupid for me to spend more money on a car that would give me less enjoyment to drive. It might be stupid for YOU to make that decision, but not for me. I assume you haven’t spent much time shifting gears with a manual clutch...otherwise you would understand the superior feeling of control it gives the driver over how the car drives and a better connection to what the transmission is doing.

How comes you got the same alloys as my a4 s line b9?

RS4 Avant is also the perfect daily car in my mind. It’s a pity we don’t have it in US.

Hey EddieX Do you know why the B9 (2019) S4 has an MPG value of 21/30.....While the face lifted B9(2020) has a value of 20/27? I know and realize that, No one buys these for their MPGs, but It is definitely interesting.

I’ve got a b9 avant here in the U.K. and it’s got a flat bottom steering wheel as standard. Weird that you don’t get on your s4!

Yes but is your steering wheel heated? He said the heated ones do NOT come with flat bottom steering wheel

So let's say if you were to replace it with 2019 S4 would you still be pleased with it or would you still find it not so pleasing

I would be pretty neutral about it. It was very nice but it didn't excite me that much. I think the looks and difference of an S5 sportback might excite me a bit more, but overall it did not have me rushing to an Audi dealer to upgrade from mine

I would love a manual but the horrible and huge amount of time I spend in heavy stop and go makes it impractical

The back looks very similar to mqb jetta or a current gen US passat. Not a fan of square rectangular tail section, prefer if it narrows down from the wheels up, kind of like bmws do

I just bought a new S3 with similar equipment and color combo as this. It’s strange how alike they look outside. Of course I’d love a S4 but the S3 is nice. Anyway, my car has the flat bottom steering wheel. I didn’t realize the heated steering wheel isn’t made with it?

Really don't regret getting a B9 A4 over this. I'm currently thinking of having it tuned to have performance figures similar to the B9 S4.

This car is perfect. Really glad it came with the ZF instead of dual clutch. And I would have never bought one had it been a supercharger instead of a turbo.

I bought the b9 s4 prestige CPO. Interior is sufficiently opulent. Its a sleeper and a cruise missile. Better interior than an equivalent BMW or Mercedes (probably wont beat the upcoming C-class generation). I love this car. Stare at it long enough and it looks menacing. Maybe that's because you know its just a wolf in sheep's clothing.

What options are worth it in your opinion? Been looking at a few B9 S4s recently, thinking of buying one in the next few weeks, do you think the sport steering and S suspension are a must? Im coming from a 2009 C63 and something I want is a softer suspension, the whole reason I ditched the c63 is that now in my 30s, it killed my back.

@@awhs5435 I don't have the sport steering so I can't speak to that (one of the two options the car didn't come with). I would get with a dealer to let you test drive one with and without it, back to back. Sport diff is a must if you love turns and it comes with the adaptive suspension in the S sport package so yes, definitely a must for an S4. I have the driver assistance package and it is such a wonderful luxury when you just want to cruise with minimum effort. The virtual cockpit is an awesome party trick and extremely convenient when I'm exploring a city or area for the first time. B&O sound system superbly enhances the environment in the cabin and would honestly not do without it. Before I thought I could just get an aftermarket system, maybe install it my self or pay a few thousand for a shop to do it, but having my car sound amazing from the factory is a huge benefit in time, money, and OEM fitment. Also, the sport seats are with nappa leather are always get complimented and are one of the crown jewels of the vehicle. If you're in a colder climate I the cold weather package should suit you, although you do forfeit the flat bottom steering wheel.

@@awhs5435 I've had my 2018 S4 premium plus for about 8 months. I got it from the dealer with the mythos black metallic paint, red nappa leather massage seats, S sport package, black optics package +. I love the car and don't regret spending extra on the options. The 19" rotors are beautiful especially with the red calipers and the car handles amazing with the sport differential

S K because people like to bitch about anything they can. No one complains about the RS6 having a ZF.

I can't stand the tacked-on looking screen on the new Audis. A poor design decision for an otherwise great interior.

To me, The B9s interior is an upgrade to the B8(.5)..... Now the exterior, more importantly the lights(heads and rears) make it look like a VW( I know overall company) rather than the Audi it is, which more so differentiated itself in the B8(.5) Gen.

Something about the aesthetics on the B9 S4 gives it a Camryesque look. It doesn’t look sporty and aggressive like the B8.5 gen. I know it’s subjective, but they really dropped the ball on the design of this vehicle.

I rented the b9 a4 a few times from silver car, the car feels solid and a fast transmission, but like all any other Audi, the electric crapped out a few miles out of the parking lot. All the warning lights came on and the door would lock and unlock uncontrollably. I thought the diff was broken lol. And I hate the tablet stick on infotainment screen.

They ruined it. B8.5 is the best S4 made. Can’t stand the B9. Looks aren’t great, especially the rear end and taillights - horrible. Interior is meh. Hate the turbo and non DCT. Should’ve kept it supercharged, better styling and better transmission. Also hate how there’s only “S” badges everywhere instead of “S4.” Lame. Can’t stand what the new guy at Audi is doing to the brand.

I just bought a B9...I looked at B8/B8.5 for awhile and test drove a ton, it's a fun car but the interiors are completely different. I personally think they look pretty similar, the rear lights are nice. I think you're being a bit over critical honestly, it's a nice car, simple and not over done, the S4 isn't an E63 with a straight piped exhaust,
