Yes he did. I'm sick of fighters fighting on short notice in championship fights and then having an "excuse" after losing. And the truth is that it's a legitimately good reason, not an excuse.. Which makes it all the more frustrating that we're not getting the best version of both fighters. Many fans in the mma community don't really put any respect on Islam's ko win over Volk.. It's almost like that fight never happened.. And it's unfair to Islam.

Yeah, but a lot of fans who consistently hate on the Muslim fighters, so really wouldnt have made a difference to those people if Volk was made of literal metal... The minority might hate on Muslim fighters but it's not an issue like you're proposing. Islam gets hate because he doesn't fight often and hasn't defended against a real 155lb fighter yet. He beat Olivera for the belt and before that his most notable win was either Dan Hooker or Bobby Green. Stop criticizing DDP and Tsarukyan for wanting a full training camp for the biggest fight of their life. It doesn’t make you more of a badass just because you would show up on shorter notice/with a quicker turnaround. Chandler fights like a dumbass and primarily to entertain. Fans want to see the best in the world go at it while being a version of themselves that is most representative of their true capability. In a way you could argue a fighter taking a shorter notice title fight is indicative that even at their best they are unsure that they can actually win and have a built in excuse.
