As an ex-Basildon boy, I'm surprised the pub is still there considering how many pubs have closed in the Pitsea/Basildon area over the years. Can't believe how crap the traffic is there now. Bike night there must be a relatively new thing as I used to hang out the Fortune of War back in the 80's.

Its apparently been condemned and the pub is just waiting to be told when it has to shut. And yeah traffic is awful.
