Awesome gameplay! Just a reminder that in Dice Throne, undefendable damage only means you don't get to activate your defensive ability. You can still use shields and other sources of mitigation, just no defensive roll. So you should have been able to use colossus when hit with undefendable damage.

Since colossus’s ability is a defense kicker, it requires a defense roll (and specific dice results) to activate, so it can’t be used against undefendable damage

Excellent game!! Wonderful strategy one thing to note is you can put two lightnings on an ability doing so removes them and you can deal 2 dmg to an opponent. I might be wrong though.

Looks cool! It's a shame the bosses don't have a way to be played in a variant of normal dice throne like the bosses of adventures do

Wow this looks fantastic! I can’t wait for this. Very glad I didn’t end up grabbing Dice Throne Adventures to solo/co-op my Marvel characters as this looks a ton better. Thanks for the preview!

I think it is most static in solo, for better or worse. Some of the stages have more movement than others, but all the bosses are a bit static that I've played. Now whether or not that is "boring" is going to depend on how you feel about Dice Throne in the first place. If you find the core yahtzee gameplay boring, then yeah this won't necessarily fix it!

The game look fantastic and its a go for the pledge for me. One thing, i dont see the point of moving while boss fight... Is it the boss mecanic it self?

It’s mainly just to pick up tokens and avoid the critical hit tokens, but you’re right that the movement matters less

Have you tried to play with 2 characters at the same time to increase the number of dice for minions and the boss? Or would you still prefer to play solo with just one character?

This is a game I mostly play with my kids, so we would have 2-3 heroes and the dice luck would be less swingy. But if I was playing solo again… I’m not sure. Dice Throne can be fairly annoying to mult-hand in my opinion

At 17:50, you could have gone for the largest straight and overcharged her abilities. When you add a lightning to an ability that already has a lightning, it does 2 isolated damage. You could have potentially done 18 damage.

For sure, I just don’t remember seeing that part, but it’s been several weeks since I had to send it on to the next reviewer so you are probably right

One more question is there a way to modify the difficulty on these scenarios? As opposed to just picking a higher difficulty mission?

@drorios8864 to go into more detail, you pick a difficulty level and they add more stuff at each level. It’s been weeks since I had the prototype, but I think it was stuff like giving the enemies more dice decreasing your health, giving them more shields, etc.

Amazing! I’m shocked that this is a thing that is coming out. I really liked Dice Throne…but really disliked Adventures. I ended up selling it all. But I had to buy the Marvel set but haven’t even cracked it open. This is absolutely awesome and I’m very excited to play this!

I appreciated what adventures tried to do but it kinda fell flat. I still try to play it with my friends every now and then but it is just objectively worse to split up so we just kind of move in a gaggle and gang up on all the monsters. We always get our butts kicked because we keep having to fight mobs with first strike and we are almost dead by the time we have to fight the mini boss. I really love the loot adding onto your deck it adds a lot of dopamine but because of the difficulty we always hope to roll healing on the loot table instead of loot cards lol. I think if the difficulty was turned down just a bit so you could actually split the party and you know “adventure” it would be a lot better. It pretty much just feels like fighting different mobs in order the actual game tiles you are traversing doesn’t add anything to the experience

I believe you can add 2 lightnings on an ability then spend the charges to hit for 2 damage. Not just 1 on an ability

It’s one Lightning token per ability. You can’t double stack them

Great job Mike. As always. I backed this on launch day, because I need this (and already have the Marvel heroes, DTA and Santa vs Krampus). I'm still contemplating if I want the acryllic tokens. I wasn't able to see well enough, but did you get cardboard tokens or acryllic tokens? Also not sure if the tiles will be in acryllic too. This is btw also the first time I noticed the ally cards are bigger cards than the regular hero cards.+ Finally, no more King's Hand tokens to cancel ultimates is great to hear. Ultimates are hard enough to get as it is, don't need the villain cancelling them automatically with their tokens... I didn't like that aspect of DTA.

I had only cardboard with the prototype. No acrylic. And agree that the king’s hand tokens were annoying!

@@OneStopCoopShop And you revealed some more allies (Cable) that are not up on the campaign page! I knew there would be more allies as funding quests. That pile of ally cards shown on the campaign page was way to big for the number of allies that they are currently saying will be in the game. Also found Emma in a picture on the campaign page, but not in the "there's 15 allies in this game" picture on the campaign page. Exciting :).

7:38 Sorry, can't place a lightning on Maelstrom because it says "excluding this one". Maybe you fix this later?

Seems like it might be better as a co-op game than a solo game, for my tastes at least. Don't think I'd want to multi hand it, and not sure I can see it coming out over Champions/United, or Zombies if I want to chuck dice. The game seems a little... static, maybe? Dull? Seems mean to say without playing it, but it doesn't look like you feel very superhero chipping away at unmoving minions' health pools.

It can sometimes seem like that but the dice yahtzee effect really makes it fun. There is usually a big moment in the game when someone rolls the big 6 they needed to pull off a powerful move, it’s a lot of fun.

I still have wave 2 of my marvel Zombicide content coming, and I’m trying to find an edge on this over that 🤔 the base marvel zombies is a fun dice Chi lo my game with friends (up to 6). This is the same with less players, less movement, les mission variability (slightly) etc. I do see the more abilities and ally’s part interesting, but not enough to want to get it I think. Only thing is that the price difference between battlechest+DP and those 2+this is pretty small that maybe I’ll still get it 😪

@bcantui definitely don’t think you need this one! Getting everything is very expensive. By the way, not sure I agree zombicide has better mission variety. I’ve never felt much variety in any of the zombicides I’ve played 😅

I had a lot of the additional official missions and the fan made missions in mind (the ones that integrate several expansions in fantasy one for example), but it still isn’t the complex dungeon crawler other games are. I guess I was also taking the mobility and positioning as part of the strategy and variety of scenarios, and the eventual crazy amount of superheroes and zombie heroes specifically the marvel one will have. For dice chucking fun with friends, but more game variety/complexity Eldritch Horror & Burncycle would be up there for me. Still haven’t had a game of burcycle we’re we don’t have to dive in the rules almost every round though.

Can you try again one character but give the enemies the extra die as if your had 2 players

@@barryc6785 it's a bit more granular than that. I think there were 8-10 higher difficulty levels that added new ways to make it tough.

Both are being offered in the new crowdfunding campaign, but yes I believe you can buy this by itself and play with older dice throne characters. As for the comments: I uploaded the video 8 days ago and made the pinned comment myself Patreon supporters get early access to our videos so that’s where the other comment came from :)
