Aw poor Jordaline with the timezones. I’ve definitely been there

This book was great. If you take the time to think about it, the story has a lot to say about destructive societal norms/expectations and the damage it deals to noncomformists- the traditional Italian home punishing tourists, the family punishing Anna for her years of supposedly unacceptable behavior (being bi, having casual sex, not finishing college, not using her talents "like she should," etc. Not to mention the wry tone from Anna knowing and identifying the horrors at home and IN the home but unable to do anything about it until she finally rejects her family and their expectations to live guilt-free. An excellent and rewarding experience for attentive readers.

I loved this book a lot ❤ a great read for those who’ve navigated difficult family dynamics and I enjoyed the supernatural twist.

I could see comparing Diavola to Ready or Not as well for the toxic family elements and possibly the Honeys book by Ryan La Sala.

It reminded me so much of the haunting of Bly manor!

I did not really comprehend this book. I only had it on audio so that could be why. I gave it 3 stars however.

I’m with Gabby and I actually really liked this book haha! It was like a 4 ⭐️ for me but I also really liked the sarcasm and satire towards the end of the book! I almost skipped reading this book but I’m glad I picked it up since ended up really having a good time with it!

I need the ending explained because I zoned out. This was such a slow burn.
