Ahm, we are judging greg by how we met him in the books, but we are ignoring how the relationship between them evolved during the many years AFTER the books and before rowley moved out, and by what i understand with this fanfic it is that it became a healthy best friends relationship (more by the moment greg developed feelings for rowley cuz i really dont think you're that rude with a person you actively love) Soooo i dont think rowley acted right on this fanfic, you don't close the door to a friend you've known for years without knowing his real intentions even if the last time you saw it he confessed to havs feelings for You, he basically left a friend who came to him for help to die by itself. btw isn't it funny that rowley is a nice person in the books but he's an asshole in this fanfic, and Greg is an asshole in the books and well, he is not a nice person exactly but he's not that bad lol

I genuinely think this is the perfect dark fanfic. It covers a lot of bases, grounded in reality as this could happen to anyone, and gets more depressing and terrifying the longer it goes on.

This is my favorite DOAWK fanfiction. It’s so well written and has a coherent plot. It makes you feel something. Like it seems like it could be an actual book.

DAMN. Greg's final recovery page brought multiple tears. This was an incredibly good fanfic!

This is honestly one of the greatest comedic works of our generation. "That piece of shit Manny", "I'm not gay Greg", the picture of the dad whipping Greg with the belt that came outta nowhere, Manny setting fire to the dad's grave and nothing coming of it, Greg getting caught with the ring because "whoops!", the fact that he took the time to write all of this shit in his diary and apparently had his diary on his person throughout the entire story up until the very end, incredible work of comedy

This is actually really depressing, especially if you read the books as a kid

Honestly, once you get past the fact that it's supposed to be related to a children’s book, this story is pretty good and well-written. If it were its own property I don't think people would've found it funny (but it's completely okay that it’s a fanfic, and not the author's fault people don't take fanfic seriously. I don't think fanfic should be looked so down upon so automatically by others. Judge it and give it a chance like you would any other genre).
