Thanks for the detailed message! I planned to be at the red line last stop in the late noon, am caution of the timing as I need to be back at kawaguchiko station to take the bus back shinjuku.

@nds1985 Hi. Yes, many people do that as well so don't worry. Just be aware if there are certain events as this could draw much crowd and thus schedule might be affected. You can do this. You will definitely enjoy Lake Kawaguchiko as we did. Have safe travels ahead. Great Video of the Red Line bus ride. Very useful for first time visitors. Nice to know that next stop is displayed on the screen in the front of the bus. Do I need to ring the bell to request for the bus to stop? What are the bus stops for Oishi park and Momiji Corridor? Thank you very much for sharing this.

Hi @subhrajyotibhar5993 , thank you . Yes, you need to press the bell to signify to the driver that you are unloading to the next stop. You can do this after they announce the next stop or as seen in the tv screen in front because sometimes the driver can skip the bus stop if there is no one dropping off. But in case you missed out, no worries - you can just wait and drop off to the nearest stop then walk (if it's walkable) or you can hop another bus to return. I think each stop is not that too far from the each other. Enjoy Mt Fuji and the mesmerizing view of the lake. Hope this helps. Stay tuned for our next episode :)

Hi @julieannestrera8749 , we haven't tried that route but we believe there is sleeper bus from Osaka to Kawaguhiko and vice versa you can probably check it here willerexpress.com/en/bus_search/yamanashi/fujikawaguchiko/osaka/all/ . I hope this helps. We tried daytime bus from Tokyo Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko station. Hi @Theheavenstairs , I havent captured in the video but yes there is a ticket office inside the kawaguchiko station. This is the unlimited ride pass cost around 1500 yen for adults and 750 yen for children. Please take note that this ticket is usable for route bus as well as sections (between stops) of Sightseeing buses. There is a map for this. Will share the link later. Valid for 2 days and unlimited ride pass. Cash is accepted too..non refundable. I hope this helps. Stay tuned for our next video coming up. :)

Hi, Welcome to the channel. If the bus is already full, passengers /commuters themselves decide right away whether to take it or not (Lucky if you can squeeze yourself inside) or would rather respect the full capacity (all standing mode) and just wait for the next bus. If you got stuck in the middle of the night, you can just rent out a room for yourself and just move in the next morning. Or if you opted to roam around and cannot get into the bus, you can just rent out bicycles so you can roam around or if you have the energy you can just walk on your way to your destination or if you have the money, then go and get taxis but I believe they are quite expensive there. Depending on your location and destination, I believe some areas are walkable and near to each other. In Lake Kawaguchiko, there are three types of buses: “Retro Bus”, “Omnibus”, and extra buses. Extra busses run during busy season. If you happen to watch the video, there was actually an incoming bus right after our bus departed from the station (Station 20 - Near the Oishi Park). Though, am not exactly sure if it has the same route as the bus we boarded which was the red bus. Just be careful of the schedule and the bus route. If you are coming from Terminal 1, they have Red Line Kawaguchiko Sightseeing Bus, Green Line Saiko Sightseeing Bus and Blue Line Narusawa/ Shojiko/ Motosuko Sightseeing Bus. Hope this helps. :)

Most vloggers I’ve seen usually buy the R-coupon which includes the ropeway and the cruise so I thought you needed to buy that to get on the sightseeing bus but it looks like you can ride it using your IC card. If we are just exploring Mt. Fuji area in one day, would you recommend to buy the bus pass or can we just use the IC card? Thanks!

Hi @noramdi.nolife , I believe it really depends on your itinerary and the weather because in our case we stayed in one location and then decided to explore around the area - mostly around Lake Kawaguchiko Wellness Center located on Bus 20 stop area Red Bus Line , so we decided not to buy the ticket and just use our IC card. You have several options actually - like if you plan to do biking and the weather is great and not too hot or cold, chances are you will mostly be on bike roaming around or walk around - this is during spring/winter . But if it's summer and you want to roam and/or not spend too much time in one location, you may want to buy the ticket so it saves you money while hopping on and off - Also if you are exploring areas which are far from each other and you think you can save then I believe the one-day pass is enough. There are additional perks for buying Mt Fuji passes the reason why most vloggers buy them like some get free rides and discounts to some restaurants/ onsen, so you may want to check that out as well. Special deals are bundled already into those passes and these are promoted to tourists. Depending on the season especially if it's peak season, some establishments become full (long queues) can be time consuming so you may wish to consider this so plan accordingly if you want to maximize the use of the pass. Roaming Mt Fuji in one day , I would say, is feasible yet again limited to the things that you can explore but very enjoyable. Definitely worth the visit the second time around. Mt. @@jamescc2010 hello, if you are planning like 2-3 day stay in the area or maybe a week of stay to roam around then by all means get the pass because you can get some added perks like visiting spas onsen /restaurants for a discount and you can maximize going between places. But if you wish to roam around in one day only, this is quite tricky because you can still technically use the pass but not sure if you can maximize it since roaming between places/stops may take an hour or two depending how crowded is the location plus the transfer -- waiting between bus arrivals takes around 30 mins interval - there is a schedule for this so if i may suggest, maybe you prepare first by writing down the areas you wish to visit then decide whether buying one would be a good or feasible for your case. If you have the budget, then why not, you can still buy the pass. Hope this helps you friend. Let me know if you still have questions. Enjoy mount fuji and lake kawaguchiko. Hi @dean93arr , quick answer is no, This red-line bus starting on Bus Stop 1, only caters to Lake Kawaguchiko area route . Oshino Hakkai is located on the other side away from Lake Kawaguchiko . From Kawaguchiko Station, you can take the bus that runs between Kawaguchiko and Gotemba Station. Most of the buses that run this route stop at Oshino Hakkai, usually one every hour. Gotemba Station -Kawaguchiko Statioregular bus rate is 1540 yen . No reservation needed. If you are unsure if the bus will stop at Oshino Hakkai, check the bus timetable at the bus stop or you can check this link www.japan-guide.com/bus/gotemba.html#section_main_content Seat reservations are required on limited express buses; when there are vacant seats, it is possible to board without reservation. Seat reservations are not possible on regular buses. Hi @preethibhat1635 , Konnichiwa! Welcome to the channel. As you can see in the video while boarding, there is a platform at the back of the driver near the front door where you can actually put suitcases but this is very limited and not all buses have the same feature. Yes, some red line buses don't have this compartment (double check with the bus signage if you are boarding a red line bus or a green line bus) . If it is peak season it can get crowded as well so chances are those areas are already occupied but there's no harm in trying your luck to board the bus with suitcases. There's no specific limit too as to how many suitcases you can bring with you- maybe 2 big suitcases (?) is enough for a person but just be mindful of the space as this is limited or you can just stand right beside with your suitcases as this is what we normally see with other people boarding the bus. We saw most people bring 1 suitcase with them. Another option for you which might be useful too is to use the locker service in Kawaguchiko station if you are just simply roaming around the 5 lakes area. Depending on your itinerary, might be extra charge for you but it saves you the hassle while roaming around. Hi @preethibhat1635 , you're welcome! 😃 The month of May is actually known as the " *Goldilocks Zone* " of the Japanese calendar. This is because it's neither too hot nor too cold, which makes it the perfect time to explore and wander Japan. Not to mention, it's cherry blossom season and the picturesque view of Mt Fuji in the background is something you shouldn't miss! The Golden Week holiday from the end of April to the beginning of May marks the peak of this period with packed trains and hotels being the norm. If you must travel in the first week of May, be sure to book early. It could get extended to mid/end May too so please expect a crowd especially Kawaguchiko area because of Mt Fuji and several attractions nearby. Good thing you are taking time to budget, and do planning - you definitely need this and do make reservations early. That will save you time, money and effort :) We hope this helps. Hi @daffatangguhananda2738, Welcome to the channel. To answer your question. yes, Suica card as well as other IC Cards can be used on the Fujikyu Railway and other transportation services in the Fuji Five Lakes area. In most cases, there should be a logo IC in the machine where you need to tap it . By the way, the Chureito Pagoda is located in Arakurayama Sengen Park near the city of Fujiyoshida. The closest railway station is Shimoyoshida on the private Fujikyu Railway. With this, you cannot use your Japan Rail Pass on this line but you can use it to travel the majority of the journey from Tokyo to Otsuki where you can buy a separate ticket and transfer to the Fujikyu Line for the last part of the journey. If you do not have a Japan Rail Pass, the fare for the Kaiji Limited Express train from Shinjuku to Otsuki is ¥2970 (£21/US$27). Once at Otsuki, the transfer for the Fujikyu Railway was incredibly easy and because Otsuki is a gateway to the Mount Fuji area, there are English signs everywhere. It seemed that the majority of the people from the Kaiji train were also transferring so there was a long line at the ticket machines but this moved quickly as there were lots of staff available to assist people with buying tickets if needed. Most people were rushing to buy tickets for the Fujisan View Express which was departing at 10:50am but as this train does not stop at Shimoyoshida where we wanted to go, we could wait to one side until the crowds disappeared before buying our tickets. Buying a ticket was very simple and took no time at all - all the stations on the Fujikyu Railway are listed on a board above the ticket machines and the number in the circle next to the station name is the fare you have to pay and payment is cash only. The fare from Otsuki to Shimoyoshida was ¥960 (£6.90/US$8.80) and children up to the age of ten travel at half price. You can also use your Suica, Pasmo or Icoca IC Card to pay for your train fare - just remember to tap your card in and out at Otsuki and Shimoyoshida Stations.

Hi @ernestoguevara8599, from my understanding you only need to present the ticket pass to the driver just before you drop off the bus - this is because the exit door is located in front of the bus. If you use suica card and you need to board the bus - you need to tap the card just near the entrance door behind the bus - you cannot do this in front. Then upon exit you need to tap the card again to conclude your trip (usually the driver will ask you to tap your card in a small card reader just beside the driver's seat because if you don't - it will get an error and you will get a stern look from the driver). But if you have the 2-day-pass with you, just present them (if you are many - just show all your paper tickets) to the driver then off you go. it's like a hop off hop on bus. Both stations are actually near Ameyoko Shopping Center, as they call - Japan’s black market, so I guess it's a matter of personal choice. But for those who are new to Ameyoko Shopping Center, I would prefer Okachimachi Station. Okachimachi is an area on the JR Yamanote Line, just south of the major Ueno Station. Walking distance from Ueno Station as well. But unlike Ueno Station which has a lot of entrance and exit points to consider, Okachimachi Station is much simpler - it has only one departure and arrival point and not as busy as Ueno Station . @markfish1113 Hi @markfish1113 , yes we believe so. From my understanding, if there's an IC Card logo in the bus that means any card issued by Japan can be used as well. As a matter of fact, we saw someone using credit card visa tapping in the machine as well. But in our case, we used Suica card when we boarded the red line bus.
