Vanessa Williams is simply exquisite. She ought to record "Touch Me in the Morning". It is so easy to forget how talented she really is. Singing, acting, dancing... she is wonderful. It is a crying shame that she doesn't always get material worthy of her talent.

Unfortunately Vanessa didn't have a record label owner who was smitten enough with her " talents" to give her whatever song she chose to record. And despite the humiliation of being stripped of her crown and Miss America title, she became THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MISS AMERICA WHO EVER REIGNED!! No other Miss America can say that.

Vanessa Williams is probably the only Miss America pageant winner that nearly every American recognizes and remembers. Ms. Williams is not only elegant, classy, and beautiful-clearly, she is also quite talented. Ms. Williams won the title Miss America in 1983. Several weeks after her reign began in 1984, a scandal surfaced when Penthouse magazine bought and subsequently published unauthorized nude photographs of the 20 year old Ms. Williams. Williams was publicly shamed and pressured to relinquish her title to the runner up. She was the first black woman to win the coveted title Miss America and the first Miss America winner in history to give up her crown. Thirty-two years later, in September 2015, when Ms. Williams served as head judge for the Miss America 2016 pageant, former Miss America CEO Sam Haskell made a public apology to her for the events of 1984. During the intervening years, influential members of the black American community rallied around her to show their support. Black America has always admired her courage, her dignity, and her resolve to triumph in the end.

Vanessa choose to pursue the path of an Classically trained singer, given her (idols) were Barbara Streisand and Bette Midler. Those women can can be proud, considering they ARE the Gold Standard and Vanessa went on to become an acclaimed and accomplished Broadway Superstar, (16 ) x Grammy Nominations, Emmy nominated, assisted in the snatching of the Oscar award in 1996 for her international hit Colors of the Wind. Unlike most of her peers, dead or alive, Vanessa is a real triple threat not just some media hyped singer turned Actress, with unmatched beauty perhaps otherworldly at times and Charisma to match, Vanessa has carved out a lane, not many can fux with! Utter Crap!!!. Go do your homework and you'll find that if there wasn't a Miss Diana Ross, there would have been no Supremes!!!. When Flo and Mary thought they hade "made it", they used to do things like, not turn up for rehearsals, or studio work so much so that a lot of the later albums, it was even Flo and Mary singing background......it was the Andante Sisters!!!. As Smokey said, Diana Ross wanted to be "Diana Ross" and let's be honest here, she was ALWAYS going to be a Star with or without Flo and Mary history has already PROVED that and Miss Diana Ross has gone on to become a PIONEER, TRAIBLAZER and GLOBAL PHENOMENON and deserves RESPECT after all, she's EARNED IT!!!.
