Diana Krall is an absolute master of interpretation. She has honed in on everything Joni expressed and has shown it in its best colours.

Total Joni fan here, and I think this is the best version of this great song.

This song always makes me shiver. Diana hit a home run last year.

I got to see Joni only once, but the way she started the show made me never forget her, with her guitar playing softly on a dark stage, then slowly she appeared stage right in a lighted soft glow, starting this very song.

I can think of no one I would rather hear interpret & perform ANY artist's originals than Ms. Diana Krall. She is THE Master Class. And this is another breathtaking performance. Bless you Ms. Krall.💕

Diana Krall is magnificent in concert..OMG

I hope Joni enjoyed this night in loving tribute to her. Part of me thinks it would be torture, to be unable to perform anymore and listen to others doing your brilliant work, but that's her business. This (or some other performance/documentary about Joni's incredible life) should be in theaters!!! If a movie about LInda Ronstadt can make box office, surely they can bring one out on Joni who is leagues beyond...

I love DK and this is a fine interpretation. And yet. You haven't really heard it until you've heard Joni do it.

Diana if you happen to read this, please consider doing a cover album of Joni songs sometime. This version of Amelia is sublime. Her best Albums in my opinion.... Song to a Seagull, Blue, Ladies of the Canyon, For the Roses, Court & Spark, Hejira, Hissing of Summer Lawns, Mingus.

JONI is the greatest songwriter (IMHO) in the history of folk-rock-jazz fusion music...like Jeff Beck on guitar-they are in a league all by themselves...and then there's everyone else.

Soulful vocals and such a magnificent pianist, Miss Diana Krall.

Pleased to know she celebrates 75, congrats. Salutations in peace.

Such a superb song by Joni. Transcendental.

I don't know if it was intentional on Krall's part, but listen to that inhale she takes after she sings at 3:06 - "Wish that he was here tonight/It's so hard to obey/His sad request of me to kindly stay away" (mournful sigh/inhale) pause "So this is how I hide the hurt..." You can just feel the stinging pain of loss in that inhale and pause. Haunting.

Le jazz, se n'ai pas un caprice, sais tout autre, c'est une communauté de personnages a parts, qui ont reçu , non pas de voie de l'esprit, mais plus tôt un message, et au debut sans connaitre l'écriture de la musique, Pris en voie et en jouant des instruments nous donnent des merveilles comme Diana Krall, Stacey Kent, et les autres ont pourraient en écrire une nuit entière.........................................

Te parece??. Su garganta es mas seca q la de su esposo Elvis Costello, quien ha potenciado su frialdad antártica para cantar. Aburridísima. Ni un solo vibrato salió de su garganta jamás. La detesto por su voz marchita y no hace el mínimo esfuerzo para conmover. Preferiría q solo tocase el piano... Lo mismo aplico a Eliane Elias... la brasileña mas fría q oi cantar alguna vez...
