I think so too. I think she would’ve remarried and he obviously would still marry Camilla and probably have had a cordial relationship once they both were in happier marriages.

She actually did say the line about taking away the furniture. The sad thing is they were getting along when she died.

I feel like they were better off as friends. It's just sad he put her through so much pain.

I did read he popped in to see her and she was really happy to see him. They had a friendly chat and after he left she told a friend she was really happy because he was wearing a jumper she had bought him.

They frequently saw each other and they had tea in Kensington Palace and they just laughed and laughed.

Of the series, this sequence between these two actors, I found, was the most powerful...The awkwardness, the joy, the egg breakfast, and the inevitable blowout. Fantastically done.

I hope this scene actually happened between Charles and Diana. If it did, then they would have at least gotten the closure they needed before Diana's death.

She doesn't look like Diana. At all. She's tall blonde and big blue eyed, but her features are a bit masculine, banal and pointy and her eyes are too confident, while Diana had sculptural angelesque features with shy eyes full of sadness and vulnerability but also lots of compassion. She doesn't remind me of Diana at all, the other actress played her a little bit better. But like in the case of Marilyn Monroe, Diana's charisma and expressive angelic beauty can't be captured by any actress. These two women weren't famous for nothing. They possess a certain something, a flawless otherworldly beauty and goddess-like hypnotic presence like a quintessence of everything good in humanity. That's what makes them so mesmerising and fascinating to watch. Very hard to find any actress today who can emulate these two immortal icons.

Elizabeth Debicki looks so much alike to Diana in this show that I couldn’t help but do double takes the entire time. I can’t believe how similar they are to each other.

I've always said that Charles really did love her. He just wasn't 'in love' with her. And if they had hooked up, several years later than they did, I believe that they could've made it work. Diana would have been mature and handled things differently. And Charles would've appreciated what she brought to the table.

​​@@krishnavyas313yes...as per one of Paul Burrells books...he opened the main door of dianas Kensington Palace apartment one day to the shocking site of the then prince of Wales...who had turned up unannounced...as per pb...he served tea to the prince upstairs and Diana jokingly asked the then prince if he had come to take away the furniture...pb I believe also mentioned the prince may have been using the heli pad close by and that the prince used the men's room before departing a little while later....

This scene was brutal. They seemed to be getting on quite well until Camilla is mentioned. The uneasy truce they had at that point was smashed. It was heartbreaking. I actually burst out crying the first time I saw it, reminding me of my own failed marriage due to infidelity on my ex's part. The end of a marriage is always sad considering the dreams couples share in the beginning.

i couldn't bear to watch the crown even after learning things about the issues it's still hard to see Princess Diana suffering in the film. And i chose not to watch that they made Charles too handsome that's unrealistic.
