Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a singer-songwriter who currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a folk musician whose playing style has a percussive attack to it. One of her main influences is indie-folk musician Ani DiFranco. She is also the co-owner of her record label, Fighting Chance Records.
