Greetings from Scotland! Diana is highly skilled in Yodelling! That's a technique she sometimes incorporates into her singing! The very deep vocal in between the high notes is not Diana, it was a backing vocalist called Vlad! The ending of the video was partially obscured so you don't see what happens fully. The story here is that Diana is a "White Crow" and the other crows harass her (as they do in nature, for being different) and at the very last part they place a cloak of black feathers on her shoulders, trying to make her conform, but Diana gives them a final death stare and kills them all! Then she sheds the black cloak to become herself again! It was in the 90s, very difficult times for us, for the country. The words - The rivers stand still, they don't drink much water. The world is frozen. Earlier here was fairy tale but now ... but now the sun light disappeared ... But Diana, as usual, made this song different. Here she is a "white crow", a person not like everyone else. New meaning in a new time.

She's a singer's singer. I'm just a guitarist but I've worked with a lot of voices and this one is very special. Every syllable is styled and every syllable lands.

I've been listening to Heavy Metal for more than 20 years, but a year ago I came across one of Diana's performances on KZread. And I was captured by the Queen of goosebumps and everything else went to the 2nd and 3rd plans! So I understand you.

One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZqIy7OketWymZM.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.

The "You Arer Super" for disadvantaged kids that Diana won 2 of (I think) and "The Show Mask Go On" Russian shows are the only Russian 'singer' shows I've seen and their staging and production is awesome!

Diana wasn't making those low sounds, they were on the backing track recorded by Vlad, one of the shows backup vocalists. Still, a stunning performance! This was Diana's favorite performance from the entire show, it just bodies everything she is.

When this video first appeared on ShowMaskGoOn we had a big discussion about if that croaking noise was Diana, because it could well have been. However when Diana was asked she said it was a backing singer. I'm tempted to suggest a few of Diana's songs to you, but you are doing very well on your own. I notice you have said you will look at the Kovacs and the Louis Armstrong covers tomorrow. I will look forward to that. Both so different. Both brilliantly sung by Diana.

Thanks for your reaction man. Diana is one of the most unusual singers out there. There is something about her sound that connects with me. Crow is one of me all time favorites. The low sound produced in this song was not her but a specialist the TV station hired for the effect. Diana certainly could have produced it though. Anyway it pleases me to see others appreciate her. I don't think that that low note in bw was hit by her bcoz u can clearly hear the beginning of higher note (yaaee yaaee) being overlapped with its ending part...tho she's polyphonic,its not possible to hit 2 different notes simultaneously having different syllable n melody. U gotta completely finish one in order to start the new one with different syllable irrespective of the note. it was either by someone else or was a part of instrumental.

I'm not sure, but I think that it's an advantage that you're not a vocal coach. Technique can be analyzed to the point that the music is missed. I t happens that I like this particular song. But, I understand you. I would say that most of the songs, that Diana performs, are not what I would otherwise listen to. Yet I am entranced, when she performs them. По смыслу и псевдоготической стилистике исполнение Линды , мне кажется, может быть близко и понятно определенной возрастной группе. В конкурсном исполнении Дианы Анкудиновой - это другой посыл, смысл и это сделало песню понятной и интересной почти всем слушателям, что лукавить даже мне в мои 70 лет...😉😒

Диана - белая "ворона" в стае черных. Эта песня про нее. Она так сильно от них отличается, что в конце песни они набрасывают на нее черное оперенье, чтобы она стала как все .Ей на самом деле и сейчас трудно,потому что ОНА ДРУГАЯ, ОНА НАСТОЯЩАЯ. В современном мире надо по сцене бегать в трусах, петь под фонограмму, иметь "папика"......... и все у тебя будет в шоколаде. Она поет душой!!!!! Пробивается САМА ! Ее любят те, у кого душа еще сохранилась, а таких меньшинство ?! Диана - это прививка добра этому злобному миру!!!!!!!
