For me, this is an expansion on "The Closest Soul" on Diana's debut album. It relates to Irina (Diana's adoptive mother) and Diana herself (the mistrustful wolfing girl). As I understand it, "The Closest Soul" was Diana's idea, however, the song was written by Brandon Stone - "Revelation" is Diana's full take on it - the realisation that the sea, drowning in silt, wasn't all there was - dreams can come about and that she can fly.

Great reaction. Listening to this, I felt the lyrics to be very specific to Diana's life, but also touching on some universal truths. The first stanza is Diana's adoptive mother (Irina Ponik) saying look into my eyes and find unconditional love, support, and safety. The 2nd stanza is what Irina saw in Diana as an orphan - the hurt, frightened, wolfing girl. Finally, there are still lingering dreams of her frightful past which can't be escaped (she has commented on this in interviews). Diana and her mom have such a deep love for each other it is truly touching. Irina has devoted her life to supporting Diana's dreams.

Greetings from Scotland! This song is a revelation about herself, her early sadness, pain and mistrust (the wolfling girl?) then her new life and the slow recovery to where she is today. She got through it all and has made peace with her past, accepting her life and her happiness as it is now. If you know her sad but inspirational childhood, her adoption and the love of her new family the lyrics all make complete sense. Diana revealed her feelings to us.
