First a little advanced peek with a little background. Diana Ankudinova was born on May 31st 2003, and now on May 31st of 2024, she will be 21 years old. This performance of Rechenka, a Russian folk song, was recorded on the 12th of May 2018, when Diana was only 14 years old and a contestant on a Russian vocal competition called “You Are Super”. Diana’s performance had many vocal professionals saying Diana was already showing a low, deep, rich and resonant sound, and her stage presence was well beyond what the majority of 14 year old girls were capable of. Now, back to Diana’s “You Are Super”, “Rechenka” performance. Her voice is noticeably deep, round, full resonant and dark, with a maturity of tone quality that was well beyond her years. Many vocal professionals were speculating based on this performance, along with video taped concert performances that Diana Ankudinova could be a true Contralto voice type in the making. She also had exceptional vocal and breath control for a 14 year old. Her musicality was noticed by many vocal and stage performance professionals. Questions were being asked, and one of the most asked questions was, how does she do it? How can such a young female singer achieve those low, rich, deep, profound, and resonant sounds? The general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply attributing Diana's vocal ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning she was just born with unique vocal anatomy. But there is more that just being born with unique vocal anatomy, it’s that Diana knows how to use it. It’s after many years of dedicated work with her vocal coach and stage performance coaches. It’s in her musicality and stage presence, along with her ability to step into a character on stage and assume the emotions and feelings of that character. Всё правильно, только именно эта запись не с конкурса "Ты Супер", а с неформальной вечеринки " Квартирник у Маргулиса" . Там собрались музыканты, актёры, певцы, они сидят как придётся, - на полу, на перилах, на подоконниках и тд. Это как бы посвящение Дианы в художественный цех, - её признала художественная братия и приняла на равных. Здесь Диана использует технические электронные эффекты. Есть ещё запись Дианы с "Квартирника у Маргулиса ", где Диана исполняет шуточную песню разбойников, а на подпевке и на подтанцовке у неё известные актёры и певцы... 😊.

Here is a tip, when you upload videos from that competition do it as "private" or "unlisted" then make an appeal for the blocks and they will be released in one to two days, then turn the videos to public and you will not lose uptime. If you want reaction to Diana's NTV performances to be released immediately then mask the video you are watching, blur it or put a watermark over it. (NTV is the network that is responsible for these TV competitions, it has the HTB logo on the lower left corner of the screen).

good reaction , but you really need to watch her performance of Rechenka in the talent show,, it is mystical. you can watch her not only singing, but her acting and performance skills.. it is when she is 14 on the show You are super,, you will be blown away

As for feeling or living the music Diana herself says she sometimes lets the music take over and goes into a trance-like state while performing that leaves her with little recollection of what she has just done and she has to watch the video to check her performance. Some people think this may be because she threw herself into singing as an escape from bad childhood memories (her early life was very rough). Diana started singing at age 5 as a remedy for a bad stammer caused by her traumatic early years. She was abandoned by her mother (or taken away by the authorities) at age 3 ½ after years of neglect and abuse and spent 1 ½ years in an orphanage before being adopted at 5yo by a wonderful woman and her family who took on the task of rehabilitating her. It was quickly discovered she loved singing, was very good at it, had a good voice and a superb musical ear (and perfect pitch according to some). She had a deep voice from the start, a friend of her new family was a local band leader and noticed her abilities and deep voice very early on. The song "Rechenka" (affectionate from the word "river") is a Russian folk ritual wedding song. There is a version that this song appeared before Christianity, and since early Christianity and paganism were closely intertwined, there are many versions of this song. It tells how an orphan girl comes to the river and prays to the spirits of nature. The song is about how my mother, father and brothers were killed by enemies, there is no one to take care of her. The river in Ancient Russia was considered the border between the world of the living and the dead. You hear an ominous whisper, it's the spirit of her late mother responding to the girl's crying.
