It is Diana's real voice - and the voice of the century. She had shot to fame a year earlier when winning the 2018 "You are Super" competition, all four of her performances on it being in their different ways masterpieces. This performance is the second of three performances she gave a year later when repeating the exercise and winning the same competition in 2019. After she won Igor Krutoy (Dimash, Lara Fabian etc) bought her a flat in Moscow so that she could move there and enrol in a top music school. She then started to work intensively on her upper register. The resulting widening of her range is evident in the 9-episode 2021 "ShowMaskGoOn" competition with very well known professional singers (who also acted as the judges), which she again won. Her episode #1 performance - if that is the right word, "epic Greek tragedy" is more fitting - of Elvis's song "Can't help falling in love" quite literally left them all stunned and stupefied. She has started to compose and write her own songs now - she is 20 - and "Revelation" in particular is very remarkable. But most reactors go through her back catalogue first. The competition performances had hundreds of millions of views before they were taken down because of a spat between YT and the Russian TV company. But all have been re-posted now. Diana's development has been all the more incredible because she was orphaned at the age of 3 following terrible abuse by her mother that left her with broken bones and speech problems. She was rescued from a state orphanage and adopted by Irina Ponik, the wonderful woman she now calls her "real" mother.

Diana is firmly in the top ranks of the world's vocal arts ..... with her style. And I would call it "Harpoon Ankudinova"... With this "harpoon" Diana impresses almost everyone from the first seconds ... and attracts the listener, up to the last second of the performance ... Her early life story is very dramatic, fraught with extreme hardship, and then she was adopted by a wonderful-sounding woman, and her career became this mythic-feeling musical transcendence. She was terribly mistreated in her first 3years by her alcoholic mother, she had even a broken arm, she had been thrown outside the house in the cold etc. So she was adopted by another family. Because of the depression she couldn't speak before her 5 years. She first started to sing before she could speak. This was a Russian competition held for orphan and adopted children in which she came first as well as in the next one and also in an all star competition against all previeus winners. That's quite enough Anthony to start knowing this girl. Who knows, the pain she experienced as a child perhaps can explain her deap and emotional voice. I have been a fan of Diana’s for over five years. That Mr Ray is a Polyphonic Dramatic Contralto. That has an amazing high end register. The reason you have never heard one before is because, that we know of, she is it. In my humble opinion she is a voice for the ages. A real life Siren. It's like listening to mother earth sing. This was one of her first well known performances. I suggest you check out her last published song, in russian, from her channel, called "The Day You". From there I am sure you will want to check out everything else. She has covers and originals, including one full album. All she does is brilliant, unique. And, as if her talent was not amazing, from her participation in the russian version of The Masked Singer, it turns out she is also a vocal chameleon. The voice you hear is her voice unprocessed. I get your confusion, this was my 1st exposure to Diana and i had to watch the video 6 times before i believed what my ears were telling me. Diana is the most dramatic of the dramatic contraltos who is also polyphonic, capable of generating more than 1 note at once. She has a sad origin story but has grown into a formidable young woman and remarkable performer. She is 15 here, now 20.

At first I couldn't believe what I was hearing either but now I'm convinced that it's just her, she is a beautiful and unique once in a life time vocalist/performer. I would like to recommend two performances, from two competitions for you to react to. Diana is an extremely rare dramatic/operatic contralto.

That is her voice. Highly recommend her version of "Can't Help Falling in Love". She goes through her entire range at age 18. It is remarkable. Then go back to when she was 14 and did "Rechenka" as it is a world class overall performance that will blow your mind.

Where is the polyphonie? At which moment? I hear it when Anna-Maria Hefele sings or the Altai singers sing.

I would say that a good reference for her vocal ability would be the musicloft version of Rechenka where she is virtually singing it acapella, just some minor accompaniment.

She has a polyphonic voice. In essence, she can sing a duet...maybe even a trio...with herself! It's more common in the East (much like throat singing) because it's part of their traditional songs. It's a lost art here in the West, though some of her music reminds me of music heard only during sacred (closed to the public) ceremony of certain American Indian groups. Someone created a virtual duet between her and Dimash. Talk about gorgeous AND mind blowing at the same time!

Diana is a rare true contralto and has polyphonic capabilities, which allows her (as I understand) to sing two notes at the same time. The last guy on the panel to press his buzzer is Igor Krutoy (possibly butchered his surname) He is a world-famous composer and songwriter, he retired a few years back but came out of retirement to work with Dimash (you often see him accompanying Dimash on piano) He has also taken Diana under his wing. Diana's background is extremely sad and dark, her mother who was/is a drug addict often abused her, attempted to drown Diana in the bathtub, then abandoned Diane, on the streets of Russia, in the snow, with a broken arm. Diana was 4 years old and unable to speak. Her foster mother (now her adoptive mother) a speech therapist, took Diana for yodelling lessons to help her find her voice and the rest is history. Last I heard, Diana was speaking around 4/5 languages. Diana's voice reminds me of the mythical siren, whose voice hypnotized sailors and led them to their deaths. Эксперт способен рассказать вам о вокальной технике и физиологических особенностях, позволяющих Диане Анкудиновой извлекать подобные звуки. Но моё первое впечатление (и в какой-то степени его тоже) было наполнено совсем другими ощущениями. Мистика; таинственность; странный и необычный мир, возникающий на ваших глазах. Странное в этом мире не то, что вы слышите низкие или какие-то неожиданные, совершенно незнакомые звуки - странно то, что этот мир красив, гармоничен и очень притягателен. В нём есть некая убедительность и завершённость. В нём есть обещание на будущее. Большинство из тех, кто это впервые услышал - обязательно захочет сюда вернуться; а затем захочет заглянуть и в будущее. Захочет ли он? - Посмотрим. Я бы ему посоветовал сначала послушать "Human" - чтобы окончательно снять вопрос о низких звуках; а затем - "What a Wonderful World" - чтобы снять вопрос об экспертном мнении. Если вас это захватывает и вовлекает - вы в этом странном мире останетесь надолго ( некоторые - насовсем). А если не захватывает - то никакие эксперты вам не помогут. @Kwstas_Vagias I wasn't trying to put her down at all, I've liked her for years. It's just an observation that she's really not singing as low as it sounds at first. What gives it the amazing sound is how low she drops her larynx and how full and resonant the sound is (many girls can sing that low but they won't have the depth, fullness, and volume). She also has this weird polyphonic?? Type tone going on at the same time. She's truly unique

It is true that in this performance she does sound lower than where she truly sings but again as i said this is nowhere close on how low she can sing, since you follow her for years then you must have heard of her performance of the "Ataman's song" she sings in the second octave there.

Yes, it's her voice and I think she was about 15 when she did this. She has an incredible life. Abandoned by her mother on the street when she was a baby. taken into a children's home before being adopted by one of the staff.
