I can't help admiring her singing again and again.Clever of her! Well done! Though it is not her song

In a fan question and answer session she said she decided to give this her all being the last round and got so totally immersed in the song she had little recollection of her performance on stage. She said she came back to the present some time after it was over and had to watch the recording to see what she had done.

One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was a singer-songwriter, poet, and actor as well as an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nqlsy7lycsa9nbw.html . This was a cover of original Depeche Mode song and they had used the same instruments, but Diana's version is as heavy, as Marilyn Manson's one because of her voice. One of the most funny videos I ever seen is that Diana is watching this performance and she is completely shocked.

I am sure that you have already been informed that the original is by Depeche Mode and i am going to confess here that i am kind of anti Manson i do not like his aesthetic or his voice but his version of this song is not one of his worst jobs, at least you can listen to it. The original version which i am a fan of, is rather monotone deliberately because of the message of the song it self but Diana managed to add nuances to it making it a hell of a lot more interesting without disturbing it's original routs and of course her powerful voice is the best decoration. Here are a few fun facts about this performance. - Diana chose to sing this song, since the theme for the day was "a song of your choice". - Diana had a cold and fever during her performance so she was not 100% there so she had to give her everything for this, she said afterwards that she did not remember much of what happened on the stage, and she had a video released a few days later of her watching and reacting to her own clip, she was completely stunned 😆 - This was her last song on the competition, she got second place with it for that day and first place in the over all rankings of the show, she won against seasoned, famous veterans with 4 first places, 2 second places, 1 third, 1 fifth and 1 ninth place. She was going to get first place again with personal Jesus, but the contestants/judges decided to give the best scores on the singer with the lowest over all ranking so he got first place on that day and Diana went second. - Diana sings this in her solo concerts right now, she replaced the song "Crow" in her repertoire from the same competition (You have a reaction to this song already) with "Personal Jesus" because the original artist of crow moved legally to prevent Diana from ever singing her cover of "Crow" again because she felt threatened that people would never know the original (a 90's Russian hit) after hearing Diana's version. Which is one of the pettiest things i have ever heard, imagine if Depeche Mode came up from the 90's to prevent a 20 year old girl from singing a cover of their hit... The whole thing is so surreal.

I don't like the original Depeche Mode version (actually both of two DM originals), it's rythmic but boring and meaningless for me. In that sense both covers (Manson's and Diana's) are more interesting than the original. However, two covers are very different. Manson's version is overloaded with the signs/sounds of destruction, decay, alienation, resentment and what I would call anti-love. In this sense, it is somewhat of an extreme interpretation, where everything is “too much”. Diana's version is not so extreme and is full of many nuances that over time may sound different even in her own performances. The main thing is that compassion and love are clearly present in her version, without which any touch to the theme of Jesus is senseless/empty.
