Diana had 3 more episodes after this, but this one was the big hint for us. Her costume is an Ermine, technically from the stoat family, but moreso resembles a Kitsune fox from Japanese culture. Diana studied hard for the Mask show, and immersed herself into the cultural aspects of her character in every way. After being unmasked in the 9th episode, she performed California Dreaming again without the mask as her "outro farewell". As others have said, it's all pre-recorded. This can all be seen on Diana's channel with her video "Secrets of Ermine", where she shares her journey from start to finish on the Mask show, it's well-worth watching.

I hadn't heard this performance of hers in a while. I forgot how good it is. Then again this is Diana, so of course it was brilliant.

to be precise She is Ermine (a mythical version like a ghost animal, these are common in Eastern culture) 1. they didn't sang live, the recordings were made in studio and slight effect was put on it too to make guesses harder (sometimes even change pitch, some mask had chipmunk like songs) 2. This is her 6th performance, the first 5 was so amazingly different sang then ususal noone guessed her. Even here the jury didn't knew. She did sang this song after her 9th performance, unmasked. They realised her is under the mask after her 7th performance, where they stopped all voice change AND she used her well known stlye, way of singing. 3. Also important knowing who the masked singer isn't automatic end, the guess is only part of the game, having fun. так назвали устроители шоу - "горностай". Но на самом деле это японская маска кицунэ (лисы-оборотня), а вот ее платье - китайское, точнее маньчжурское - оно практически точно копирует парадные одеяния маньчжурских принцесс династии Цин (маньчжурской), которая правила Китаем в 1644 - 1912 гг.

Когда Диана пела после снятия маски, это звучало ещё лучше. Так что и запись, и пение в маске. Диана всегда делает все на 100%
