Your response to this video is typical of most reactors, this was the first song performed by her on this project. The piece was adapted from this arrangement kzread.info/dash/bejne/gniW0ceKlqTZp9o.html . At the beginning of the second show, the judges were instructed not to vote Diana #1 each show so her older peers wouldn't feel slighted. The judges are those peers. Of the entire project, this performance was down toward the bottom half for me. Both Diana and me like Crow as our favorites of this project, which has the same type of vibe as Rechenka. And you are right she is like a warrior princess who has come to earth to conquer it with her Beauty and her tremendous voice which can stop any army in its tracks but she gets here and she can’t help but proclaim her love for us even though we are so very flawed. The reason it sounds so much different it’s saying and the monarchy instead of the major key sweat does it that dramatic, haunting sound combined with Diana’s contralto voice that it makes this song epic. It should be the soundtrack for some epic World changing movie

Hey Jamel, it's pronounced "Anku-DEE-nuh-vuh". She has a video of her singing a rendition of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good" when she was barely 14 years old that is phenomenal.

This is her first exposure to adult singing competition. The reactions you saw were competitors in the show. I don't think they knew she was this different and this good. BTW, she did win the show.

Here on YT, we only have the "like" and "dislike" responses. This one could really use that "wow/surprise" response from FB. What an amazing and unique voice!

Not really sure how to describe this. I was sort of unsettled by the vocals but completely astounded at the same time. Seemed almost alien, otherworldly. I imagine she'd have a fantastic future in soundtrack work. Uncommon voice.

It is called 'Jodel Time'...really extraordinary...the audience absolutely loved her but the judges didn't turn their chairs around, even though they were obviously fascinated by her voice. They asked her to sing something else and she sang a French song acapella...but she was not chosen. What did she do? As the audience cheered her, she went up and gave the judges a hug! Completely captivating performer, even at the age of 13! And also you could do 'Wicked Game' and 'Rechenka' both at the age of about 15 in singing contests... utterly spectacular voice! Also she sings a beautiful and uplifting 'Into the Sky!' Enjoyed your comments on her....the background is as extraordinary as the performer. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. She is 18 and she is from Vladivostok Russia. Her voice is contralto which you don't normally hear from women in pop music unless you listen to opera. Even so the contralto is very rare. The judges who saw described her as haunting and hypnotizing which is exactly what I felt. One more thing she started singing to overcome a stutter.

She is 18 here which is very in the development of a female singer, but I think she is already a true polyphonic contralto, {rare}, with amazing range and control. I hope that as she matures, she will be able to transition into a full dramatic contralto, {very rare}. The judge standing on the top row with the beard and tears in his eyes is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well recognized and respected opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears?
