RIGHT. I feel like Furuya was never really petty when Sawamura got better or took his spot as Ace. He was kind of helping push Sawamura forward throughout the whole show except when he kept showing off being the Ace when he first got it 😂

Coz he saw how sawa strived for that number. He admired sawamura coz sawa can lead a team and wash away the tensions.

I was never really a fan of baseball, but after watching this show I gained a whole new love for it.

I agree. Baseball never really interested me even when I was at the games because I would never understand it, but after watching the show, I loved the sport and even started playing softball myself.

It's still not the same as actually PLAYING the game at a competitive level growing up, but all I'd say sports anime/manga are probably the best way to really get into a sport with a fictional story. There's YT channels out there that focus on certain sports, from people who don't watch ANY anime, who often say they got recommended a sports anime about their favorite interest, and are shocked that anime does a better job than Hollywood when it comes to realism. Even for sports and interests that AREN'T EVEN POPULAR IN JAPAN, anime/manga do a better job than Hollywood does. It's absolutely pathetic that, for say European medieval combat, THE MOST REALISTIC TV SHOW/MOVIE ON THE SUBJECT COMES FROM JAPAN. This isn't samurai shit, this is EUROPEAN medieval warfare, and they get right what Hollywood and European movies and TV shows get wrong. This is why I don't watch Hollywood much these days. Not only is is it borderline cultural propaganda in the form of entertainment half the time, it's so cheesy, bullshit, and unrealistic, and if it's about sports, oh God, it's going to be some underdog David vs Goliath crap, with some impossible last second Space Jam shot winning the championship. You pretty much know the hero is going to win the moment the movie starts. That's why people like Rocky so much, because Rocky actually lost. In sports anime, you never know who is going to win.

Baseball isnt a pure spectator sport so never got into it. After all wont be able to see or know what type of pitch the catcher has called for, so some of the intricacies of the game is lost for spectators.

🥺 could really feel it when his hands were shaking taking the #1 jersey. When hard work pays off....what a feeling 🥺😭😭😭😭🥳🥳🥳🥳

This episode had me so HYPED when he FINALLY became ace I was so excited like we did it WE made it, its been a long time coming😭. It was really a payoff cause all the losses and failures then seeing his maturity this season and showing that he is really ready for that number UGGGGHHHHHH this anime is so underrated 😫

I cried when the first OP played. This show knows how to play with emotions.

All that makes me sad is the season ended with his bad pitching even though i know he will recover and and be an even better pitcher i just wanted to see once even a single ball that he was better now and was pitching okay after his first match...damn this concern for a character

Y’all don’t know how much I screamed at this scene. All the frustration in season 2. To finally reach this point-

I believe in coach kataoka "we will face this summer with sawamura"❤️

I remember this moments, guys the tears were real

His journey from his 1st year summer at No. 20 to his 2nd year summer at No. 1 is truly remarkable. Also, Furuya congratulating him is the icing on the cake.

It's really scary how Kataoka predict the future.. After read chp 223-273 whoooo man!! What's Kataoka said its really happening

@@monikaknolton3440 Be cautious catching up, this story is absolutely amazing and IF you know and like baseball. It is the best fictional baseball story ever written. The attention to detail is really spot on. However, the creator sure can drag one fictional HS baseball season out into a decade of real time. I think our boy Sawamura is probably in his early 30's by now. Great GREAT story, but dont expect a conclusion anytime soon.

just finished reading act2 manga and I can't wait to watch in anime the seido and ichidai semifinals. The intense pitching duel between sawamura and amahisa is something you will definitely look forward for.

Eijun gotta be one of my favorite mc's of all time

Most satisfying visible improvement ever and in every aspect, sawamura deserves to be the ace. He can pull the team and the team can pul him and even if furuya is a tad bit stronger, he wouldn't be stable if not for sawamura's presence. Sawamura's mindset screams ACE to me.

i hope there's an upgrade for eijun in the finals against inashiro. like how furuya was awakened when they lost last summer, i want him to experience that too.

En mi opinión Sawamura es infravalorado por su propio entrenador y equipo, me refiero a antes de ser nombrado Ace, siempre lo ponían de lado y le daban todo a Furuya, eso hizo que el personaje de Furuya me callera mal. Eijun me atrapo con su optimismo, humor, desarrollo, todo en el me gusta, y que un personaje así sea tan infravalorado me llena de tristeza y frustración, pero gracias a eso disfruto aun mas cuando el crece y destroza a todos con sus lanzamientos. Me llena de orgullo y me emociona lo mucho que crece y avanza como pitcher. Actualmente por fin ha llegado su momento, y quiero verlo lanzar todo el tiempo que sea posible.

Eso se debe a que en el béisbol, los pitchers con potencia como Furuya tienden a eclipsar a los otros y por eso casi nadie le ponía atención a Sawamura. De hecho, si nos ponemos a pensar a Furuya le dieron el dorsal número 1 más por descarte que por ser el mejor pitcher (Sawamura sufrió de yips tras el torneo de verano, y Kawakami perdió el control de su mejor lanzamiento). Cierto que Furuya tuvo un desempeño notable durante su primer año e inicio del segundo, pero esto se le subió a la cabeza y cuando cometía un error todo el equipo terminaba pagándolo caro. Afortunadamente durante el Acto II, Sawamura va creciendo gradualmente y Kataoka lo reconoce, al punto que le asigna a él los partidos importantes porque se ha vuelto el más confiable de sus pitchers. Lo único en lo que Furuya le supera es en fuerza con los lanzamientos, pero Sawamura tiene un arsenal más variado e impredecible, la resistencia para jugar partidos completos, y no sucumbir a la presión en momentos críticos.

Not that anyone knows of. The manga is only on chapter 270 for act 2 and it just recently got off a 2 month hiatus so we might have to wait a year or 2 for another season.

I was so hyped at this episode. But after that in 1st game of summer tournament i got really irritated watching eijun beome pathetic again. This was the 1st time i got annoyed at him. Author really doesnt give this character any chill.Dont misunderstand i wanted Eijun to become Ace sooo much nd his deserved recognition but after gaining that number he gets screwed at 1st game it was too much for me to even thinking furuya shd ve been continue to b ace. I really want eijun to shine as true ace like Mei of inashira.

Bro he was nervous and trying too hard, he's human, its obvious it was only a bad game. His biggest weakness in the series is himself (fear, yips, excitement), he had one of those moments/games. The ep did show that the team still had faith in him as the Ace despite his poor performance that one game.

@@SuperFang1 Obviously, even the best players can have a bad day sometimes. The manga shows that afterwards, he pulls himself together game by game, and his growth is shown in the semifinals against Ichidaisan when he made it through the entire game.

FCKN FURUYA. U R NOT ACE ANYMORE HELL YEEEAAAH

While watching this series I started to dislike the main character and did not care for him to be an ace. I have never seen an anime character scream so much. It started to get annoying. I skipped most of his parts. I only fully enjoyed watching the episodes that were not too focused on him. Also, I got attached to the supporting characters of season 1, the 3rd years. The bond and friendship they showed in season 1, I felt that.
